UPDATE 9:00 AM ISRAEL TIME
SPECIAL NEWS
It appears that an Iranian-led attack on Israel is imminent. Meetings were held in Tehran yesterday to coordinate an assault on Israel which would include some 1500 Iranian drones and missiles, and an untold number of missiles and drones from the Houthis in Yemen, the Iranian terror proxies in Iraq, and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Apparently, representatives from Hamas and Islamic Jihad were also at the meeting, but their part in the attack is unclear given the degree to which their missiles have been degraded in Gaza.
Given our enemies’ fondness for attacking on Shabbat and holy days, one would expect an attack to come tonight or tomorrow.
The following airlines have now canceled or partially suspended service to Israel:
United, Delta, Lufthansa, Swiss Airlines, Brussel Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Air Baltic, Eurowings, Air India, and Fly Dubai.
On the other hand, Israeli airlines El Al, Israir and Arkia are operating as usual and even adding flights to get stranded Israelis home if necessary.
On the Ground in Gaza
From the IDF Spokesman this morning:
“Based on IDF and ISA intel, the IAF struck terrorists operating inside a compound within the Dalal School in Shejaiya. The compound was used by Hamas as a hideout for commanders and operatives to plan attacks against Israel.
Hamas systematically violates international law by operating inside civilian infrastructure and exploiting the civilian population as human shields.”
The IDF has just announced that Muhammad Al-Jabari, the deputy head of the Islamic Jihad munitions production infrastructure and “finance minister” of Islamic Jihad has been eliminated.
On the Ground in the North
The IAF hit Hezbollah assets in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah fired anti-aircraft missiles at our planes. None were hit and all returned safely.
On the Ground in Judea and Samaria
IDF forces are currently engaged in firefights in Bethlehem, Jenin, and Shechem (Nablus).
Medals at the Olympics
Despite everything that is going on around us, Israelis are fixated on the Olympics. Yesterday, two Israelis Anbar Lanir (a silver) and Peter Palachik (bronze) medaled in their weight classes in judo. They dedicated their medals to our soldiers and hostages.

Anti-Government Demonstrations On Saturday Canceled
Disingenuously now known as “Free in Our Country”, the anti-government group has canceled the demonstration scheduled for Saturday night in Tel Aviv. They issued this statement:
“Out of responsibility for the thousands of protesters who go to dozens of protest centers every weekend and in order to ensure their safety and security, the main stage will not take place. We are strengthening the hands of the IDF and the security forces at this time and will allow them to focus on their important mission. The headquarters of the struggle will continue to work for the future of the State of Israel and the actions of the public struggle will be renewed as soon as the situation allows it. We will continue to struggle together until the failed government is replaced and proper leadership is ensured.”
What a pathetic joke–on so many levels:
When have the anti-government “protesters” ever shown any “responsibility”?
When have the anti-government “protesters” ever “strengthened the hands of the IDF and the security forces”? (They regularly encourage the soldiers and security forces to not serve).
When have the anti-government “protesters” ever been interested in the “future of Israel”? They are only interested in themselves and overthrowing PM Netanyahu.
When have the anti-government “protesters” ever been interested in “proper leadership”? For them, proper leadership means “leftist leadership”.
On this note, we bring this blog to a close, though we will continue updates throughout the weekend as the situation warrants. We hope for Shabbat Shalom!
Correction:
We reported here yesterday that Iranian Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Corps had been killed in a strike in Damascus. That information was incorrect. Though in Damascus, he evaded the attack. This morning he is in Kermanshah province at an Iranian missile base near the Iraqi border.
