UPDATE 9:00 AM ISRAEL TIME

With Israelis Like These Who Needs Enemies?

The Quotes of the Day

“The bereaved families who want to continue the war to destroy Hamas are gangs of thugs.”

Former PM Ehud Barak

Gangs of thugs? The abominable Barak–former associate of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein–is talking about families whose loved ones have fallen in battle and who want the deaths of those loved ones to have meaning.

”I trust Iran and Hezbollah.  I am afraid of our side.”

Former Defense Minister Bogie Ya’alon

I trust Iran and Hezbollah?  In his visceral hatred of PM Netanyahu, Ya’alon has gone completely off his rocker.

“There is no kidnapping deal because Netanyahu no longer has a soul, and he who does not have a soul cannot be Prime Minister of Israel.”

Former PM (for 6 months) and leader of the Opposition Yair Lapid

Speaking of going completely off his rocker, Lapid does not let a day pass without parading in front of the media with yet another outlandish accusation against PM Netanyahu.

“Netanyahu fatally damaged Israel’s civil service. His ministers turned many of the professional appointments into political jobs; entire departments in the prime minister’s office were dismantled and turned into ruins.”

Benny Gantz, former IDF Chief of Staff

Talk about absurd. These words come from an utterly incompetent military leader whose military appointments of his political cronies to the IDF General Command helped lead to the disaster on October 7th.

The words of Barak, Ya’alon, Lapid, and Gantz which do nothing more than sow division in Israel in a desperate time of war are despicable. Again, with Israelis like these four, who needs enemies?

On the Ground in the North

*The IAF struck the Shayrat Military Airport in the Homs area of Syria overnight. This is another of the many staging areas for Iran to ferry weapons to Hezbollah.

*Hezbollah launched nearly 40 missiles and drones at northern Israel yesterday (even though the IDF only counted 25) focused on Malkia, Nahariya, Margaliot, and Malkia. This morning at 6:21 am more missiles targeted Kiryat Shmona and Manara.

In response to the missile and drone fire yesterday, the IDF issued this statement last night:

“Earlier today, fighter jets and aircraft of the Air Force attacked a launcher, a terrorist squad, military buildings and a number of terrorist infrastructures of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in the areas of Kfar Kila, Yarin, Rashef, A-Tiri and Khula in southern Lebanon. Following the alerts that were activated in the Western Galilee, about 25 launches were detected that crossed the territory of Lebanon, there were no casualties. The IDF attacked with artillery the sources of the fire and also carried out artillery fire to remove a threat in the areas of Ramish and Sheba in southern Lebanon.”

On the Ground in Gaza

At 5:56 am this morning, Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired missiles at south Ashkelon and Zikim.

The IDF continues its tactic of gaining control over an area, leaving, and then returning again after HamISIS returns and tries to reconstitute its forces. Whether this is a viable strategy in the long run is open to question.

Apparently from the IDF’s point of view, moving forces in and out and in again keeps the terrorists off guard and avoids the necessity of keeping boots on the ground in Gazan neighborhoods.

On the other hand, the obvious problem with this constant maneuvering is that HamISIS reconstitutes its forces and sets ambushes in every direction. In addition, one can only wonder what effect the IDF General Command strategy has on the morale of the troops who are constantly having to go back in and retake what they have already taken.

Yesterday, the IDF spokesman noted that two weeks after the 98th Division left Khan Younis, they have returned again.

The Endless Saga of the “Abused” Terrorist

You will recall that initially 9 reservists were “detained” (aka “arrested”) for abusing a senior violent terrorist who heavily participated in the October 7th massacres– while transferring him from one detention facility to another.

The sordid accusation was that they abused him by not only beating him but also inserting an object (broom handle) into his rectum. The Military Prosecutor based this accusation on statements from the terrorist and even on phone calls they made to other terrorists in Gaza (who have outrageously been released).

In this absurd process, 4 of the reservists have now been released. Yesterday, a doctor at Hadassah Hospital said that when the terrorist was brought to the hospital he had no injuries to his rectum or even in other places on his body. When he was reexamined later, he had the injuries–which the doctor says were consistent with “self-inflicted wounds”.

Nevertheless, the Military Court yesterday extended the detention of the 5 until Sunday.

Just ridiculous.

If You Think That Saga Is Ridiculous

Then think about this.

It was reported yesterday that the Military Prosecutor is considering allowing the October 7th terrorists to sue individual soldiers.

Yes, you read that correctly, and you wonder what in the world have we come to in Israel?
