The View From Here in Ashdod

Yesterday we woke up to the sound of naval cannon fire off the coast. This morning at 4:00 am it was sound of airplanes overhead and bombing in Gaza.

Obviously, the anticipated strikes from Iran and its friends in Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq have yet to materialize. All of the punditry now suggests an attack may come after the summit in Doha tomorrow.

Iran says that it will attack if Israel does not agree to a ceasefire in Gaza. This is the same Iran that the Biden Administration has plied with all sorts of offers in the last few days–including an offer to restart nuclear “negotiations” if Iran holds its fire. Iran rejected that offer outright, and why not? Word this morning is that Iran’s nuclear program has now developed the explosive component necessary for a nuclear bomb.

The bottom line is that we here in Israel feel that we are being gamed. The Iranians and Hezbollah believe they have us–because of the idiotic reportage by the Israeli media–at their mercy, and that we are all in a panic.

No one is panicking and the mood here is whatever Iran and Hezbollah are planning to do, they should do it so we can get on with the job of attacking them.

The Photos of the Day

Photos 1 and 2:

Yesterday afternoon, the Al-Qassam Brigades fired two M-90 missiles out from under a tent in a “displaced” persons camp in Gaza toward Tel Aviv.

One missile exploded in the water off the Tel Aviv-Yaffo coast, the other exploded in Gaza.

The following two photographs are screen shots from a terrorist video documenting the launches:

The missiles just before being fired. Note the plastic tent overhead.

Also note the sophistication:

The targest coordinates are entered in. Obviously, either the device, or the missile, or input was defective judging from the results.

The target coordinates are entered in. Obviously, either the device (one placed on each missile), or the missiles, or input was defective judging from the results.

After the missiles were fired, the IDF issued orders for the residents in the part of the camp from which the missiles were fired to evacuate immediately. Presumably the launch site was destroyed overnight.

Photo 3:

2983 Jews went to the Temple Mount yesterday on Tisha B’Av led by the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.

You would think the sky fell.

The Bidenites in Washington immediately issued this ludicrous statement: “We strongly oppose the visit of the Minister of National Security Ben Gvir to the Temple Mount, which is a blatant violation of the status quo of the holy sites in Jerusalem. These provocative actions only increase tensions at critical moments like these, when all attention should be directed to the ceasefire talks in Gaza and the release of all the abductees.”

Unbelievable. So now, the Biden Administration would have us believe that a Jew going to our Temple Mount is a “blatant violation of the status quo of the holy sites in Jerusalem.” The Bidenites have completely adopted the Palestinian narrative about the Temple Mount and Jerusalem.

Kolakevod to Ben Gvir for going–as he does on every major Jewish holiday–and for the other Jews who went and prayed on the Mount:

On the Ground in the North

Following numerous missile and drone launches against northern Israel yesterday, the IAF:

–eliminated two Hezbollah terrorists in Barishit:

–struck Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in Kfarkela with bunker busting bombs. The explosions and secondary explosions were heard 40 miles away in Sidon:

On the Ground in Judea and Samaria

Two Palestinian terrorists carrying a car bomb to be used in a terror attack in Israel were killed when their bomb exploded in their car in Halhol near Hebron in what the PLO described as a “work accident.”

The more “work accidents” the merrier.

Some More Good News

It appears that as war looms, the anti-Netanyahu protests are waning. Fewer “protesters” are showing up for demonstrations, donations are dwindling, and the protests organizations seem beset by internal divisions.

And so it goes this morning in Israel . . .
