UPDATE 8:00 AM ISRAEL TIME

The Quote of the Day

“Iran is working to establish an eastern front of terrorism against the State of Israel through special units of the Revolutionary Guards, which are involved in arms smuggling, financing and directing terrorist organizations.

Iran is smuggling weapons to Jordan, mainly through the Syrian border, in an attempt to undermine the Jordanian regime and turn the Israel-Jordan border into a hot border instead of a border of peace. From there the weapons are smuggled to Judea and Samaria, with an emphasis on the Palestinian settlements, where an Iranian-Hamas terrorist infrastructure is being established in accordance with the proxies model it established in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq”.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz providing more explanation why the IDF has undertaken a three-pronged attack against terrorists in Judea and Samaria.

On the Ground in Judea and Samaria

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis at Jenin, between Ariel and Tapuach, near Marda, on Road 60 between Beit Anon and Kiryat Arba, between the Large Yitzhar Junction and Hetmar Sharon, at Eyal, north of the British Police Station, and on Road 55 between Ma’ale Shomron Square and Azzun,

The IDF Spokesman speaking yesterday:

“During the first day of the joint IDF, ISA, and Israel Border Police counterterrorism operation in Jenin and Tulkarm, 12 terrorists were eliminated, more than 10 wanted suspects were apprehended, dozens of explosive devices were dismantled and weapons were confiscated.

Today (Thursday), the IDF and ISA completed a counterterrorism operation in the area of Far’a in the Jordan Valley with the objective of foiling terror, exposing terrorist infrastructure and eliminating armed terrorists in the area.

At the beginning of the operation, the soldiers arrived in an IAF helicopter and operated to encircle the area. During the counterterrorism operation, an IAF aircraft struck and eliminated an armed terrorist cell inside a vehicle.

During the operation, with the direction of the ISA, IDF soldiers used a drone to locate an explosives laboratory and operations center embedded inside a mosque in the area. Weapons, explosive devices and additional military equipment were also located inside the mosque.

Furthermore, the IDF soldiers encountered armed terrorists in exchanges of fire, during which hits on the terrorists were identified. Additionally, terrorists hurled explosive devices at the soldiers. No IDF injuries were reported.”

On the Ground in Gaza

The IDF Spokesman:

“IDF troops continue operational activity in the Rafah area in  southern Gaza. Over the past day, the troops eliminated dozens of terrorists in close-quarters encounters and in aerial strikes.

One of the terrorists eliminated in the area of Khan Yunis was Osama Jadallah, a commander in the Islamic Jihad’s intelligence unit who took part in the October 7th Massacre.

IDF troops continue operational activity in the area of Khan Yunis and on the outskirts of Deir al Balach. Over the past day, the troops eliminated dozens of terrorists, including in aerial strikes.

Operational activity continues in central Gaza.

IDF troops eliminated a terrorist cell with an IAF aircraft and are conducting targeted raids in the area.

Over the past day, the IAF struck approximately 40 terror targets throughout Gaza , including manned launch posts, military structures, terror infrastructure, and more.”

Further Indication that the Ceasefire/Hostage Talks Are Going Nowhere

*The Israel Security-Political Cabinet voted last night that IDF soldiers will remain in the Philadelphia Corridor between Egypt and Gaza. The only objection came from Defense Minister Gallant.

*In one of the more bizarre actions of yesterday, the families of some hostages broke through barriers and ran toward Gaza yesterday carrying placards with their relatives on them (replicating scenes from October 7 when their relatives tried to escape the HamISIS savages). They were eventually stopped and turned back by the police.

On the Ground in the North

Hezbollah launched 7 barrages against northern communities yesterday and have struck again early this morning at Kisra Samla in the upper Galilee.

In response, the IAF hit Hezbollah assets in southern Lebanon focusing on missile launchers.

In short, as we have written before, we are back to the same tit for tat that existed before the IAF preemptive strike last week.

And so it goes so far this morning in Israel . . .
