**Soldiers of Division 91 raising the Israeli flag in Maroun El-Ras in an area where the Iranian FM once stood as he announced the construction of a Hezbollah outpost there:
**The IDF located and neutralized a Hezbollah tunnel that crossed about 10 meters from the area of ’Mafvin’ in Lebanon, into Israel near the community of Zerait.
**In total, Hezbollah has fired another 200 missiles at Israel today–120 at Haifa alone. Most of the missiles were intercepted; 3 people were wounded by shrapnel.
A New Gallant Fiasco
If you recall, PM Netanyahu has wanted to replace Defense Minister Gallant for months because of Gallant’s predilection to act like he is prime minister making speeches and arranging meetings without government approval.
It was announced two days ago that Gallant was going to Washington tomorrow to meet with various Bidenites including Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
The only problem?
Gallant made this announcement out of the blue with no discussion whatsoever with PM Netanyahu–and so you can imagine that Netanyahu was incensed.
For what conceivable reason did Gallant want to go?
It appears now that Netanyahu has now cancelled Gallant’s excursion much to the dismay of the Israeli left–led by Benny Gantz who is claiming that the cancellation is “harming the state’s security.”
Say what?
BREAKING NEWS 6:05 PM TUESDAY
Naim Kassem, Hassan Nasrallah’s Deputy and apparently the de facto spokesman for Hezbollah has made a televised speech today in which he said “Hezbollah agrees to an unconditional ceasefire.”
Obviously this statement is born from the intense distress that Hezbollah finds itself, and it is not known if Kassem really speaks for the terrorist organization.
It also appears that he wants a ceasefire by Israel before there is an agreement by Israel and Hezbollah as to the terms of an agreement—which would be a nonstarter for Israel.
However, it is movement in the right direction because for the first time Hezbollah does not say that its ceasefire is dependent on a Gaza ceasefire.

On The Ground in the North

In addition to the ground maneuvers by Divisions 146, 36, 91, and 98 south of the Litani River, the Israel Navy is now attacking from the sea, and of course air operations are nonstop.
Here is a statement of the IDF Spokesman concerning Division 98 alone:
“The forces of the 98th Division, including the combat teams of the paratroopers brigade, the commando formation, the 7th brigade and the Yalam fighters are fighting in southern Lebanon in villages near the border, which are considered the terrorist strongholds of Hezbollah.
So far, the fighters have eliminated hundreds of terrorists, destroyed several underground tunnels, dozens of terrorist infrastructures and combat complexes where hundreds of weapons deployed along the border were located and destroyed.
In close cooperation with the infantry forces, the tank and engineering forces of the 7th Brigade operated in three central areas in southern Lebanon, located weapons and eliminated terrorists by firing tank shells.”
One bump in the road is that the despicable UNIFIL is refusing to abandon its positions along the border.

UPDATE 10:00 AM ISRAEL TIME
Last night was full of raw emotions as two separate ceremonies commemorated the October 7th massacres. Predictably, the ceremony in Tel Aviv turned into a political rally headlined by the abominable singer Aviv Geffen singing his new anti-Netanyahu song “You Stole My Country”.
In contrast, the ceremony organized by the government in Ofakim steered clear of politics and focused the agony of what happened. One of the opening sections called “The Scream and the Shatter” featured a troupe of female dancers dressed in white dancing to a powerfully discordant song “Does Anyone Hear Me?” performed by singer Nofya Yedidya.
As they danced and she sang, the dancers began to fall on stage, dying one by one until all were “dead.” It was an incredibly powerful statement that left everyone in tears.
A short time later, a group of children sang while the silhouettes of a kindergarten class was in the background. Again, the silhouettes darkened one by one remembering the tragedy of so many children who were brutally murdered. It was impossible to watch and not be moved to tears.
It was unforgettable just as the events of October 7th.

Staff Sgt. Noam Israel Abdu, 20 years old, from Kadima-Zoran, a fighter in the 12th battalion of the Golani Brigade, fell in battle in northern Gaza.
On the Ground in Gaza
There is no new news from Gaza. Jabaliya is completely encircled and the IDF has ordered the complete evacuation of Palestinians from northern Gaza. IDF forces continue face to face combat against terrorists in Rafah, Nuseirat, and Jabaliya.
On the Ground in the North
The IAF carried out more than a hundred attacks on southern Lebanon and Beirut yesterday. The explosions along the border in southern Lebanon were so loud that they rocked all of northern Israel from Rosh HaNikra to Tiberias. Last night the sky was red from the fires caused by missile explosions.
In Beirut, a targeted IAF attack eliminated Sohil Hassin Hassini, the head of the Hizbullah terrorist organization’s headquarters. According to the IDF “Hasini was a partner in the arms transfer agreements between Iran and Hezbollah and was responsible for the distribution of the smuggled arms between the various units in Hezbollah, both in terms of transport and in the allocation of resources.be In addition, he was a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah’s senior military forum.”
Hezbollah Missile Attacks
Hezbollah fired 190 missiles into northern Israel and the Galilee yesterday. This morning has begun in the same way.
Hezbollah missiles have attacked the following locations so far: 00:09 Hanita, Idmit, Shlomi; 00:20 Metzuba, Ya’ara, Shlomi; 0028 Rosh HaNikra, Betzet; 01:06 Kiryat Shmona; 04:46 Kerem Ben Zimra; 04:50 Bar Yochai, Safsufa, Kadita, Zivon, Baram; 07:55 Hanita, Ya’ara, Metzuba, Shlomi; 07:57 Jish, Bar Yochai, Meron, Marom HaGalil; 08:31 Manara.
The Amazingly Absurd Israeli Opposition
It is simply astonishing how after doing nothing but criticizing every move that PM Netanyahu has made since October 7th, the Israeli opposition now has jumped on the bandwagon and is telling Netanyahu what Israel should do next.
Yair Lapid says that Israel should attack Iranian oil fields.
Naftali Bennett says that Israel should attack Iranian nuclear sites.
Benny Gantz says that Israel should attack should take strong and proactive action against Iranian aggression, and this may be the time to take out Iranian nuclear sites.
And on and on.
It is a theater of the absurd. Everyone who did not want to have anything to do with the government now feels empowered to tell the government what to do.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
