UPDATE 9:00 AM ISRAEL TIME
On the Ground in Gaza
*Palestinian Hamas terrorists in Gaza fired two missiles from a “humanitarian area” in central Gaza this morning at Israel border communities. There were no incoming missile warnings–the missiles exploded in “open spaces.”
What are “open spaces”?
Basically any uninhabited space such as a forest, a park inside a town, and especially agricultural fields.
As you may not know, many of the farms along the Gaza border have returned to operation. It must be remembered that Hezbollah missiles that exploded in “open spaces” in the north killed numerous agricultural workers.
*In yesterday’s OneIsrael blog, we noted how the three soldiers were killed in Jabaliya in northern Gaza because of inadequate site preparation of the place where soldiers were boarding a bus.
The IDF completed its preliminary investigation yesterday and found that our soldiers were attacked by 19 terrorists who fired 3 anti-tank missiles. 3 soldiers were killed; 18 soldiers were wounded. All 19 terrorists were killed.
Of course, none of this explains how the terrorists were able to get so close to our soldiers’ loading zone.
On the Ground in Lebanon
The latest from the IDF Spokesman:
“The IAF struck Hezbollah terrorists operating within a weapons storage facility in southern Lebanon, in violation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
These terrorists directed and carried out terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians in recent months.
Furthermore, over the past day, numerous Hezbollah terrorists that posed a threat were struck by the IDF in southern Lebanon.
The IDF is operating according to the agreements and understanding between Israel and Lebanon, maintaining the ceasefire conditions. The IDF remains deployed in southern Lebanon and will operate against any threat posed to Israel and its citizens.”
On the Ground in Syria
You may remember the idiocy of the Biden Adminstration back when it took office in 2020. One of the first steps it took was to remove the Houthis in Yemen from the list of terror organizations.
Yesterday came news that before Biden leaves office on January 20, the Bidenites are considering removing the Syrian “rebel” group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham from the terror list.
The following is a screen shot from a video taken last night of a convoy of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham fighters entering Latakia on the Mediterranean. They are waving ISIS flags:
Shortly thereafter, they began executing Alawites in the city.
It should be pointed out that social media this morning is full of gruesome videos of street executions taking place all over Syria.
And the Bidenites may take Hayat Tahrir al-Sham off the terror list?
From the IDF Spokesman:
“Within the last 48 hours, the IDF struck most of the strategic weapons stockpiles in Syria, preventing them from falling into the hands of terrorist elements.
Naval Operations: Last night (Monday), Israeli Navy missile ships struck two Syrian Navy facilities simultaneously: the Al-Bayda port and the Latakia port, where 15 Syrian naval vessels were docked.
Targets: Dozens of sea-to-sea missiles with ranges of 80–190 kilometers were destroyed. Each missile carried significant explosive payloads, posing threats to civilian and military maritime vessels in the area.
Hours in the Sky: Manned aircraft flew hundreds of hours over Syrian airspace, conducting over 350 aerial strikes together with fighter jets.
Targets Struck: A wide range of targets were struck, including anti-aircraft batteries, Syrian Air Force airfields, and dozens of weapons production sites in Damascus, Homs, Tartus, Latakia, and Palmyra.
Assets Neutralized: Numerous strategic weapons were neutralized, including Scud missiles, cruise missiles, surface-to-sea, surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, UAVs, fighter jets, attack helicopters, radars, tanks, hangars, and more.
Ground Operations: The Northern Command’s Fire Control Center conducted air strikes on 130 assets in Syria, including weapons depots, military structures, launchers, and firing positions.”
On the Ground in Israel
At 5:40 pm yesterday afternoon, an Arab-Israeli terrorist ran over a pedestrian on a sidewalk on Rabbi Kahaneman Street in Bnei Brak. The terrorist fled the scene but was chased by a motorcyclist. Police eventually captured the terrorist in an underground parking garage.
The pedestrian is listed in “moderate” condition this morning.
Highlights from PM Netanyahu’s Testimony Yesterday
It was amazing that on a day when the funerals of 7 soldiers were taking place and the IDF/IAF destroyed virtually the entire Syrian Army, all of the news yesterday was about PM Netanyahu testifying in his trial. You would have had to see the circus of reporters and demonstrators outside the courtroom to believe it.
A confident Netanyahu took the stand for hours (that is he and his lawyers in the photo above). What follows are a few snippets of his testimony (as reported in the Jerusalem Post this morning):
“I waited eight years for this–to say the truth as I remember.”
“The charges against me are an ocean of absurdity.”
“I am the prime minister, and I am managing a country and the IDF during a war . . . I thought the Court could have balanced my time better than making me testify three times a week.”
“They told me ‘make a Palestinian state and give them half of Jerusalem. Because I rejected this, the media hated me. If I had accepted two states ajd ignored the threat of Iran, and went a few steps left, I would have been applauded.”
“I had to freeze building (in Judea and Samaria) for almost a year to deal with Obama though I was eventually able to double the size of Jewish communities there. Obama’s view that there should be no building near Palestinians went directly against the ideas that I believed in. Obama believed that Iran was an opportunity, and [delusionally] sought a nuclear deal with Tehran.”
“The Israeli media fails to represent all sectors of the public and is left-leaning. This creates a massive dissonance between left-wing media and regular Israelis. The current media acts as if an Iranian nuclear deal is a good thing and that if Gaza and Lebanon were left alone, it would be a good thing.”
Kolakevod to PM Netanyahu for telling it like it is!
And so it goes in Israel this morning . . . so far . . .
