May Her Memory Be For A Blessing
Ludmila Lipovsky, an 83 year old Holocaust survivor, was brutally stabbed to death outside her assisted living facility in Herzliya yesterday as she waited for her daughter to take her to a doctor’s appointment.
The Palestinian terrorist from Tulkarm is a 28-year-old former informant for Shin Bet. He had been brought into Israel to be “rehabilitated” after his cover had been discovered.
He jumped on Ludmila yelling “Allahu Akbar” and stabbed her repeatedly until he was shot by two nearby Brinks guards. There is no word on his condition this morning. We can only hope he dies.
The View from Ashdod
Last night was the third night of Chanukah, and the Houthis “celebrated” it by firing another ballistic missile at Israel:
As you can see from the above map, the Houthis aimed more for Jerusalem this time and away from Tel Aviv. Of course, we don’t know if they actually “aimed” or if the missile just fell “short”.
In any case, it is apparent that the strikes that the IAF are undertaking against Yemen are doing little to stop the daily and nightly missile fire emanating from there.
It will take a long campaign against the Houthis to stop them, and a long campaign is extremely difficult given the distance involved. Perhaps Israel would be well-served to fire some of our ballistic missiles at Yemen instead of repeated aerial IAF attacks.
On the Ground in Gaza
The IDF may have ravaged northern Gaza, but the terrorists are still firing missiles from there.
This was the target area at 4:31 pm yesterday afternoon as two missiles were fired toward Nirim/Sderot:
On the Ground in Syria/Lebanon
*Yesterday the IAF struck 7 border crossings between Syria and Lebanon–once again thwarting the ferrying of weapons to Hezbollah.
*From the IDF Spokesman:
“The 226th Brigade, under the command of the 146th Division, continue activities in the area of southern Lebanon, while acting in accordance with the ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
The troops operating in the Naqoura area, the westernmost village in southern Lebanon, located terrorist infrastructure used by Hezbollah for carrying out terror attacks against the State of Israel. The troops identified military equipment and weapons storage facilities embedded inside civilian buildings, including found explosives, RPG missiles, and AK-47 rifles inside a pharmacy.
Additionally, the troops located “Burkan” missiles, mortars, and other ready-to-use weapons.
In another activity, the troops located launchers directed toward Israel, as well as a truck mounted with 40 rocket launcher barrels. All the equipment was confiscated and destroyed.”
On the Ground (or In the Water) in Israel
Winter has arrived here with increasingly cold weather, heavy rain, and snow in the Golan and on Mt. Hermon. This was the scene yesterday on a city street in Gadera:
But the sun is shining this morning here in Ashdod,
and we wish our soldiers and you dear readers:
SHABBAT SHALOM!
