UPDATES 9 am Israel time, Saturday, October 26 2013:
**The Obama White House and National Security Agency, which has now been revealed by Edward Snowden as spying on the leaders of 35 other countries, apparently tried to shift the blame to Israel for hacking into French President Nicholas Sarkozy’s communications network back in May 2012.
At that time, after the hacking had been discovered, French officials flew to Washington and were told that the United States had nothing to do with it–nor did any of its “closest” allies–Canada, Britain, New Zealand, nor Australia. On the other hand, the Obama Administration would not vouch for Israel and even implied, with no evidence whatsoever, that Israel’s ISNU Mossad unit was the perpetrator.
We now know differently.
**The Iranian theater of the nuclear absurd added another few acts yesterday with word coming from one direction that despite all the Obama-Rouhani pillow talk the Iranians are still enriching uranium to 20% and from another direction that they can now construct a nuclear bomb with the material they have within a month.
Your humble servant still does not understand how the world cannot understand that Iran undoubtedly already has crude nuclear weapons which only require uranium refinement to 10%.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Permit your humble servant to vent about Norway this morning. Perhaps more than any other European country, Norway is the very definition of hypocrisy–and worse.
It was revealed yesterday that Norway had “declined” to become involved in the destruction of Syrian chemical weapons. Here was the report from euronews:
“Norway has declined a request from the United States to help destroy Syria’s chemical weapons. The Norwegian government said it would like to help, but explained that the country “did not have the resources or staff necessary to do the job.”
[Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge] Brende told reporters: “This has not been an easy conclusion for us to come to – because if there’s one thing Norway and the Norwegian people desire, it is to contribute to these chemical weapons being destroyed.”
Stop and think about this self-serving drivel for a moment.

Here is a country with an army of staff personnel that pours hundreds of millions of dollars into eastern Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria each year in a blatant attempt to delegitimize Israel. We have the Norwegian Foreign Ministry (MFA), Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), the Norwegian Aid Committee (NORWAC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), and a myriad of other organizations specifically subsidized by the Norwegian government.
Every day, these Norwegian groups are some of the primary funders of the Free Gaza Movement, the Stop the Wall Campaign, Ir Amim, Machsom Watch, Emek Shaveh, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, the Geneva Initiative, Yesh Din, Peace Now, the Maan Development Center, Al Dameer, B’Tselem, PCATI, HaMoked, Gisha, Al-Haq, Al Mezan, PCHR, and Miftah.
It is not an exaggeration to say that no country is as invested in Israel delegitimization as Norway. And while the Norwegian line is always about “peace”–the actual fraudulent statements from all the Norwegian groups and the groups they fund are about “Israeli human rights” abuses and “Israeli war crimes.”
Human rights abuses and war crimes that do not exist.
But when we have a real war crime with real human rights abuses of the worst kind–the chemical gassing of more than 1000 men, women, and children–and a real chance to contribute to peace in the Middle East by contributing to the security of Syrians, Jordanians, Lebanese, Palestinians, and Israelis, what is the response of Norway–a country that loves to call itself the richest per capita in Europe?
“We would like to help but we don’t have the resources or staff.”
What a pile of Norwegian horse manure. It stinks all the way from Oslo to Ashdod this morning.
