“Assad, you coward, send your troops to fight for the Golan!”

The rallying cry of the Syrian protestors–the people we are supposed to sympathize with as they fight for democracy? Southern Syria is racked with demonstrations today as Assad’s grip on Syria begins to slip. And the 40 year ‘quiet’ on Israel’s Syrian border begins to dissipate. Will the West come to the aid of the Syrian ‘democratizers’ as it did to the aid of the Libyans (the European–Middle Eastern media this morning is reporting that Obama has run away while Sarkozy has taken control)? Highly doubtful. There is no oil, water, or natural resource in Syria worth intervening for.
