–>Palestinian terror in the last 12 hours:
*So far, Friday has seen a bulldozer attack at the Gush Etzion Junction (the subject of Today’s Blog below), multiple infiltration attempts in Samaria, and numerous “rock” assaults on Israeli motorists.
Infiltration attempts occurred at 1:10 pm this afternoon at Har Bracha where two Palestinian terrorists were shot and killed two days ago, and at Nilli an hour later. Israelis were not wounded in either attempt.
“Rock” attacks have taken place in Gush Etzion, Beit Hanina, Silwan, Shuafat, and Jalazun among many other places.
*Yet another Hamas tunnel has collapsed in Gaza.
At least one Hamas terrorist has been killed in the sixth tunnel collapse in recent months. These continuing collapses are beginning to wear thin with the Gazan populace who are questioning whether they are the result of Hamas incompetence, bad weather, or Israeli sabotage.
The dead terrorist’s mother was particularly critical of Hamas yesterday.
–>The IDF’s newest assessment of Hamas capabilities . . .
According to senior IDF sources:
*Hamas has completely rebuilt its missile arsenal back to the 12,000 missiles it had before the war in 2014. The IDF believes most of the newer missiles are less reliable than the ones that Hamas previously had because they are produced in Gaza with poorer explosives than previously used.
*Hamas now has far more mortars than it had. Most of these mortars have been smuggled in from Hezbollah.
*Hamas now numbers 40,000 terrorists in Gaza. This includes 20,000 fighters in the Hamas military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades (1000 of which are solely involved in building Hamas tunnels), and another 20,000 who “work” in Hamas “civilian” and “police” organizations.
–>To reward Hamas . . .
*The government of PM Netanyahu continues to defy all logic. Despite Hamas tunnel building and missile construction, Israel continues to let Hamas members into Israel to “worship” at the Al-Aksa Mosque in Jerusalem.
Today, 200 Hamas members were bused through the Erez Crossing to Jerusalem and back.
*It was leaked today that the Netanyahu security cabinet has approved an extensive project to provide Gaza’s only power plant with natural gas from the Tamar gas field off of Israel’s northern coast.
The infrastructure of the project, mainly the laying of a gas pipeline from northern Israel to Gaza, will be paid for by the Quartet.
But the Palestinians in Gaza are supposed to pay $50 million per year for the gas.
And that is a tremendous joke.
At the moment, the Palestinians owe Israel more than 2,000,000,000 shekels in unpaid electricity bills. What possible reason does Israel have to believe that the Palestinians will pay for the natural gas?
Not one.
What will undoubtedly happen with the gas is the same that is happening with the electricity–Israeli consumers will end up paying for the payment shortfalls.
TODAY’S BLOG:
As referenced above, another bulldozer attack took place at the Gush Etzion Junction this morning. A Palestinian terrorist attempted to kill an Israeli soldier by running over her. Fortunately, the soldier was only lightly wounded, and the terrorist was killed.
Your humble servant rarely gives information about the terrorists who are involved in terror attacks against Israelis but is making an exception today.
It turns out that the terrorist was Amani Husni Jawad Sabatin, a 34-year-old, mother of four (the eldest of whom is a 14-year-old daughter). She lived in the Palestinian settlement of Husan near Bethlehem. Her husband has a good job in Israel; hence the car she was driving had Israeli license plates.
So how did the person who posted this picture on Facebook:
End up as this person:
What is more, Jawad was determined to kill. If the car failed, she had a backup plan:
Apparently the transition from wife and mother to terrorist was seamlessly easy (if there was ever such a “transition” at all).
It emerged later today that Sabatin ran out of her middle-class house this morning after a fight with her husband, declaring that she wanted to kill herself. And, according to the PLO, what better way to kill yourself than by becoming a “martyr” in an attack on Israelis? After all, the PLO has made sure that most Palestinians have now seen thousands of images praising Palestinian bulldozers and stabbers.
And so, on a sunny morning, Sabatin armed herself with a knife, hopped into the car, and went out to the Gush Etzion Junction where she spotted a female IDF soldier and tried to murder her by running her over. She did manage to wound the soldier in the legs, before she died in a hail of gunfire.
In summary, one more homicide killer is now dead.
Good riddance.
