The daily Corona update . . .
840,995 Israelis have been diagnosed with Corona since the beginning of the pandemic–an increase of 172 since yesterday (note that not all who were diagnosed have active cases).
There are 1,254 active cases in Israel–an increase of 97 since yesterday.
26 Israelis are in serious condition (no change)–16 of these are in critical condition needing a ventilator (no change).
6,429 Israelis have died from Corona (no change).
Despite the daily “surge” in newly verified cases of Corona, relatively few Israelis are being hospitalized because of the virus.
Only 43 Israelis in the entire country are currently hospitalized with Corona (32 of them were unvaccinated). As noted above, 26 of the 43 are in critical condition.
34 incoming passengers tested positive for Corona at Ben Gurion Airport over the weekend. 9 of them were on flights from Russia, while some passengers from Turkey, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and the United States also tested positive.
