If this statement is not throwing Israel under the bus, your humble servant doesn’t know what is. What Nides is saying is that Israel can do whatever it wants to counter the threat from Iran, just don’t expect the U.S. to come to its aid. After all, the U.S. will have signed an agreement with Iran.

The man was arrested by the Jerusalem Police for having a “provocative sign.”
It is amazing that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians can come to the Temple Mount each day during Ramadan and wave PLO, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad flags and nothing is done. On the other hand, one Israeli can carry a sign saying “Death to Terrorists”, and he is thrown in jail.
By the way, your humble servant and most Israelis completely agree with the sign.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
The IDF says that it has captured more than 70 terrorists and thwarted half a dozen terror attacks in the last two days.
Two armed Palestinian terrorists were seized at the Meitar Checkpoint in the south.
A Palestinian terrorist was killed in Hevron as he threw Molotovs at an IDF patrol.
Palestinian Molotov and “rock” attacks took place at Huwara near Einbus Square, on Road 55 at Ponduk, near Tekoa, at Luban a-Sharqiya, and at numerous places on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road.
Palestinian terrorists in Gaza launched explosive balloons into southern Israel.
The man most critically wounded in the screwdriver attack in Gush Etzion yesterday has regained consciousness and is now breathing on his own.
If the government won’t act . . .
People will.
Since the latest terror wave started two weeks ago, there has been a 2500% increase in the number of people applying for gun permits.
Israeli judicial “terrorism” . . .
Hardly a day goes by that we do not have another bizarre ruling handed down by an Israeli court.

So try to wrap your mind around this, dear reader. Yesterday, the lawyer representing the terrorist argued in court that the terrorist was not really a terrorist because “he was depressed” and “wanted to murder anyone who happened to be in his way.”
The judge agreed and reduced the charge against the terrorist from carrying out a terrorist attack to attempted murder (which carries a lesser punishment).
So it goes in the surreal world of Israeli justice.

Terror Surges, Prices Soar

In the midst of this latest terror wave comes news that prices for everything in Israel will continue going through the roof.
The latest area to surge is dairy products.
First, realize what the cost (adjusted for shekels in all of the below) of a 1-liter carton of milk is in Israel compared to the cost in a few other countries:
Germany: 3.4 shekels
The U.S.: 3.8 shekels
The Netherlands: 3.8 shekels
England: 3.95 shekels
Israel: 5.94 shekels ($1.86 or about $7.03 per gallon)
As high as this is, the price is scheduled to rise to 6.32 shekels in the coming weeks.
Emek cheese (an Israeli favorite) is going from 42.7 shekels per kilo to 45.48–in dollar terms this is a rise of about $1 per kilo.
Of course in a country like Israel where the current price of gasoline is $8.53 per gallon, the price of dairy might not seem so high, but as we said, the price of everything is exorbitant.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
