The Absolutely Idiotic Quote of the Day
“The current government leadership and its wretched partners in the media have pumped and funded horrific norms of lies and violence. The results are more violence in children’s schools.”
Gilat Bennett, wife of former PM Naftali Bennett
Bennett’s husband Naftali and his partner Yair Lapid were prime ministers from June 2020 until December 2021–essentially, the last 18 months. Benjamin Netanyahu became prime minister 14 days ago. For Gilat Bennett to blame “the current government” for pumping and funding norms of lies and violence resulting in violence in Israeli schools is beyond the absurd.
Not only that, who in the world is Bennett talking about when she talks about the government’s “wretched partners in the media”? Virtually all of the Israeli media is in bed with the Israeli left.
The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
Stabbing attack:
A Palestinian terrorist stabbed an Israeli in the head and torso at Yehuda Farm on Mt. Hevron. The terrorist was shot and killed; the Israeli remains in critical condition.
Shooting attacks:
Palestinian terrorists opened fire at the Salem Base in the area of the Menashe Brigade in Samaria. No Israelis were wounded; the terrorists escaped.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire at the IDF pillbox at the Jit Junction near Kedumim.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire at the Tel a-Ras IDF outpost near Shechem.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on an Israeli motorist in the Singil area, northeast of Ramallah.
Another attack in Hevron:
At a riot in Hevron yesterday, a female Palestinian tried to gouge out the eyes of one of our policewomen:
Fortunately, the policewoman was only badly scratched below her eyes.
Some excellent economic news . . .
The Ministry of Finance reports that for the first time since 1987, Israel ended the year with a budget surplus!
Of 9.8 billion shekels–about 2.8 billion dollars.
More good news . . .
The Israel Electric Company reports that by the year 2025, Israel will no longer rely on coal to operate its two of its largest stations.
Gas pipelines are currently being laid to the electrical generating plants in Ashkelon and Hadera.
The process of converting the plants to natural gas use is complicated and will still take another two years.
TODAY’S BLOG
The Inclusivity Virus Has Come To Israel
Unfortunately, Israel–which happily is one of the most extraordinarily diverse places on Earth– is becoming more “woke” and “inclusive” by the minute.
We have seen it over the last year and a half in such places as the Education Ministry and even the Defense Ministry.
Now it has arrived at the Israel Police.
As we reported yesterday, Minister of National Security Ben Gvir has ordered that no PLO flags be flown in public spaces anymore nor will demonstrators be allowed to block roads. One test of that order will come this weekend when a huge anti-government demonstration is planned for Tel Aviv.
If you can believe this, senior officials in the Tel Aviv District Police informed Ben Gvir today that they will not remove every Palestinian flag nor will they give priority to clearing roadblocks.
Why?
According to the Police, “Tel Aviv is a city that gives its demonstrators more freedom of expression and therefore needs a more inclusive hand than Jerusalem.”
Your humble servant feels like regurgitating his breakfast.
Since when are allowing demonstrators to vandalize property, block roads, and wave enemy flags acceptable forms of expression?
If we have reached a point where we accept these actions because they are “inclusive”, we are in trouble.
