TODAY’S BLOG:
3 Egregious Quotes Yesterday
Quote 1:
“To topple the government, we will withdraw funds that will lead to higher inflation and higher interest. People will start suffocating from their mortgages, and there will be no money to buy at the supermarket. The security system will fall apart, and the country will collapse . . .
Moshe Redman, one of the leaders of the anti-government movement expressing the goals of his movement in a post yesterday.
What more is there to say? As we have been writing since the outset of the “protests”, those “protests” have nothing to do with judicial reform. They are all about destroying the country.
Quote 2:
“The US stands firmly for the preservation of the historic status quo with respect to the holy sites in Jerusalem. Any unilateral action or rhetoric that jeopardizes the status quo is unacceptable.”
The U.S. Embassy in Israel Spokesperson discussing the visit of Israel Minister of Security Itamar Ben Gvir to the Temple Mount yesterday on Tisha B’Av. The spokesperson went on to say how the U.S. supports Jordanian custodianship of holy places in Jerusalem.
Can you believe this?
The utter gall embodied in the statement is incomprehensible. How dare the U.S. tell an Israel Minister of National Security where he can go and where he can’t–especially to the holiest site in Judaism which is under complete Israeli sovereignty.
Quote 3:
“As I’ve previously stressed, the greater responsibility — even if not exclusive — for finding solutions that will benefit the country and society as a whole will always lie with whoever holds the reins of power. That’s how democracy works.
President Herzog upon arriving back in Israel after a visit to Bidenville.
As we have always said, Herzog is nothing but a pawn of the ultra-left wing here in Israel. Under the guise of being a neutral mediator, all he does is excoriate the government and hold it responsible for the strife caused by the anti-government movement–which he refuses to hold responsible for anything.
By the way, Coalition member Israel Katz issued this reply to Herzog: “Instead of conveying a conciliatory message and joining the coalition’s call to return to negotiations, he points a finger at the coalition while ignoring that it was the heads of the opposition who behaved irresponsibly and blew up the talks due to the pressure of the protests, while disregarding significant efforts and far-reaching compromises made by the coalition.”
If and when negotiations resume between the Opposition and the Coalition, they cannot be under the auspices of the utterly biased Herzog.
On that note, we wish you all:
SHABBAT SHALOM!
