The Tragic Photo of the Night

The Utterly Useless Gesture of the Day

Defense Minister Galant declared today that he has withheld the work-entry permits into Israel of the immediate family of the two terrorists who massacred Batsheva Negri yesterday in Mt. Hevron.

Who is kidding whom?

This action will have absolutely no impact on the terror emanating from Areas A and B.

Meanwhile, if you can believe this, Israel’s security entities let it be known today that they oppose re-establishing checkpoints in Area C of Judea and Samaria because it will “harm the fabric of Palestinian life and encourage more terrorism.”

Pardon your humble servant for a few minutes while I throw up.

The News on the Israeli Street

The war in Judea and Samaria.

IED, “rock” Molotov attacks:

Palestinian terrorists tried to murder Israelis between Beyyat and Einbus, near Adam Square, in the vicinity of Singil, at Luban al-Sharqiya, at Al-Aruv, at Turmusayya, and at another two dozen locations.

The war along the Gaza border.

Intense rioting took place along the Gaza border yesterday and again today. Terrorists crossed the border into Israel and set fire to an IDF post.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Crossed into Israel (as Hezbollah did in the north).

The terrorists went over the fence in full view of two IDF jeeps, climbed up to top of the outpost, planted a PLO flag, and set the post on fire.

The terrorists went over the fence in full view of  soldiers in two IDF jeeps, climbed up to top of the outpost, planted a PLO flag, and set the post on fire.

The Gaza border fence which has been touted as a way to stop terrorists from Gaza entering Israel is turning out to be a sieve because our soldiers have obviously been ordered not to interfere with terrorists who cross the fence.

Another Day, Another Israeli Murdered

Batsheva Negri with some of her kindergarten children.

By all accounts, 42-year-old Batsheva Nigri of Beit Hagai was the kindest of people–a loving mother to her three cherished daughters, and a beloved preschool teacher to class after class of young children.

And just like that, she was gone–as so many other Israelis before her.

Barbarically murdered by heavily armed Palestinian terrorists who could care less about her or any other Jew. To those terrorists, Batsheva was just an easy target because they could travel anywhere they want to in Area C with few checkpoints.

So, when they spotted the car they wanted to attack, the terrorists simply slowed down and stopped their car in a roundabout blocking the road, walked up to Aryeh Lieb’s car that Batsheva and her 12-year-old daughter had hitched a ride in, and riddled the car with 22 bullets.

Batsheva was sitting in the front passenger seat–which was hit repeatedly with bullets as was the window which was shattered by the gunfire. Most likely, she died instantly–or at least before rescue services called by her daughter arrived.

Batsheva’s kindergarten was in Efrat, but she was a resident of nearby Beit Hagai.

As you may not know, the community of Beit Hagai was formed after three Israelis were murdered in Hevron decades ago–and the name Hagai is actually an acronym of their names.

Despite the fact that it has grown over the years to now have a population of about 700, Beit Hagai’s residents have been targets of terrorists numerous times over the years–as have the residents of many other communities in Judea and Samaria:

*A couple was murdered at the entrance gate to Beit Hagai during Shavuot in 1994.

*The driver of a shuttle bus and one of his female passengers were shot to death at Beit Hagai in 2000–the terrorist was released in 2011 as part of the Gilad Shalit deal.

*Two boys, aged 16 and 17 were murdered in 2005 while they were hiking around Beit Hagai.

*Also in 2005, Beit Hagai’s police chief was murdered by Palestinian terrorists.

*In 2010, 4 residents of Beit Hagai were murdered in a shooting attack at Bnei Naim Junction.

*In 2016, a father of 10 was murdered in Beit Hagai.

And now Batsheva.

May Batsheva’s memory always be for a blessing.

Addendum:

Unbelievably, IDF soldiers at the IDF post near the site of the attack heard the shooting, but did not recognize that an attack was taking place and did not respond.

What in the world did they think the shooting was
