A few recent comments from VP Nominee Vance on the situation here in Israel (bolding mine):
“I think there are two big problems with what the Biden administration is doing. First of all, it’s a fundamentally incoherent policy. On the one hand, they’re saying too many Palestinian civilians have been killed. With the other hand, they’re depriving the Israelis of the precision-guided weapons that actually cut down on civilian casualties. If you’re worried about Palestinian casualties, the stated policy here actually doesn’t make a ton of sense . . . The bigger problem here if we zoom out is, and I hate to say this, but America is not good at micromanaging wars in the Middle East. Joe Biden has been president for four years, but he’s really presided over, as a senator and a vice president, many of the biggest disasters we’ve had in foreign policy in the Middle East over the last 40 years . . . I think that our attitude vis-a-vis the Israelis should be look, we’re not good at micromanaging Middle Eastern wars, the Israelis are our allies, let them prosecute this war the way they see fit . . .”

UPDATE 9:00 AM ISRAEL TIME
On the Ground in Gaza
*A number of IDF and IAF attacks overnight focused on the Nuseirat neighborhood. At the same time, IDF tank fire was directed at central Rafah, and heavy bombing this morning at 4:15 am which awakened us here in Ashdod targeted HamISIS assets in northern Gaza.
*The Philadelphi corridor between Gaza and Egypt has been the subject of much discussion in the past few days with western media reporting that Israel is ready to withdraw from the area and PM Netanyahu adamantly saying that such a withdrawal will never happen.
What is happening on the ground strongly supports PM Netanyahu:
The IDF is engaged in a dramatic widening of the corridor (photo IDF).
*According to the U.N. (and who can ever really believe the U.N.):
More than 40 million tons of rubble in Gaza need to be cleared, and at a rate of 100 removal trucks per day, it will take about 15 years to remove the ruins at a cost of between 500-600 million dollars.
On the Ground in the North
Hezbollah fired more than 20 missiles and drones into Kiryat Shmona over night causing considerable damage in the city.
The IDF Spokesman:
“Following the alerts that were activated at 23:30 in the Kiryat Shmona area, about ten launches were detected that crossed Lebanese territory and were successfully intercepted by the air defense fighters; there were no casualties. In addition, following the alerts that were activated in the north of the country at 11:39 p.m., about ten launches were detected that crossed Lebanese territory; most of them were intercepted, no casualties were reported.”
Meanwhile the IAF attacked Bint Jbeil again–this time killing 3 Hezbollah terrorists including Hezbollah commander Amer Dagher.
On the Ground in Judea and Samaria
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on Israelis at the Ramin Junction near Beit Lied in Samaria this morning. 3 Israelis were wounded; they are listed in “moderate condition.” There is currently a manhunt for the terrorists.
In the Neighborhood
The IAF continues to expand our range of fighting–eliminating two more Hezbollah terrorists in Syria (close to the Lebanese border):

A Follow-Up to Yesterday’s Reportage
Finance Minister Smotrich continues to insist that Israeli taxpayers will not pay an agurot toward the legal defense of the hideous terrorists capured on October 7th and afterwards.
Yesterday, he said that any money for such defense would come out of the PLO tax monies being withheld.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
