The Quotes of the Day
The degree of Trump envoy Adam Boehler’s incompetence continues to come to light as snippets from his many interviews are revealed. Some of his idiotic comments:
Boehler calls Israeli hostages “prisoners.”
Boehler calls Palestinian terrorist prisoners “hostages.”
Boehler calls Hamas terrorists “pretty nice guys.”
Boehler describes Hamas terrorists: “Look they don’t have horns growing out of their head. They’re actually guys like us.”
There’s not much to add this litany except to say that Trump negotiator Steve Witkoff seemed highly peeved with Boehler yesterday as he discounted everything that Boehler said, as did Secretary of State Rubio who said that Boehler’s meeting with Hamas and subsequent statements were “a one-off” that had failed.
Say What?
New IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir declared yesterday that “The Army will be on alert year round.” Some of us thought that the IDF was already on alert all the time–but we were mistaken.
From a news report:
“Zamir instructed the head of the IDF’s General Staff, Major General Dado Bar Khalifa, to cancel the concentrated silences (vacations for some IDF units) since the IDF is on high alert in several theaters. The Chief of Staff also instructed the commanders to set an example and make sure to go home with weapons even on weekends.”
On the Ground in Gaza
If you can believe this (and of course you can) Israel’s egregious High Court of Justice issued an order to the government yesterday to submit a response by today as to why Israel has shut down electricity to Gaza.
Elsewhere according to the IDF:
*Several terrorists were identified operating near IDF troops in the area of Shejaiya and attempting to plant explosive devices. The troops opened fire toward them, and hits were identified.
*Additionally, three terrorists were identified operating near IDF troops in the area of Nuseirat and attempting to plant explosive devices in the ground. The IAF struck the terrorists, and hits were identified.
*Early Monday evening, a drone was spotted crossing from the territory of Israel into southern Gaza. The drone was monitored throughout its flight. An Air Force aircraft recently attacked a number of suspects who were on their way to pick it up.

A baby was wounded in a “rock” attack by Palestinian terrorists on the road near Udala.
On the Ground in the North
In Syria:
*The slaughter of Alawites and Christians continues with more that 7000 now reported massacred. Bodies are being bulldozed into mass graves (photo above), burned, and thrown off cliffs.
The Alawite leaders sent an urgent letter to PM Netanyahu yesterday:
“Save us from the cruel regime, we will receive you with songs and flowers.”
*The IAF carried out numerous attacks in Syria yesterday and last night at Jabab and Izra in the Daraa province in southern Syria.
And so it goes in Israel and the neighborhood this morning . . . so far . . .
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
