UPDATE 3:00 PM ISRAEL TIME

May Their Memories Be For A Blessing

Ten Israeli soldiers have been killed in southern Lebanon in the last 24 hours:

(L-R) Sgt. First Class Gai Ben-Haroosh 7155th Battalion, 55th Paratroopers Brigade, Warrant Officer (res.) Mordechai Haim Amoyal 42 from Lod, Sgt. Maj. (res.) Shmuel Harari 35 from Tzfat, Master Sgt. (res.) Shlomo Aviad Nayman 31 from Mitzpe Yericho, and Sgt. First Class (res.) Shuvael Ben-Natan 22 from Rehalim.

The latter four all served with the Carmeli Brigade’s 222nd Battalion and were killed when Hezbollah terrorists came out of a tunnel throwing grenades.

(L-R) top: Maj. (res.) Dan Maori 43 from Beit Yitzhak, Warrant Officer (res.) Omri Lotan 47 from Bet Hefer; bottom: Warrant Officer (res.) Guy Idan 51 from Shomrat, Cpt. (res.) Alon Safrai 28 from Jerusalem, and Master Sgt. (res.) Tom Segal 28 from Ein HaBesor.

All 5 soldiers were armored reserve fighters from the “Hazen” (Elder) Brigade–in the 89th Battalion of the Alexdroni Brigade.

According to the IDF: “The brigade has been attacking a village for several days, and in recent days the forces have killed dozens of terrorists in encounters, raided buildings that were used as terrorist infrastructures and located a large amount of ammunition.

Last night, at 22:00, Hezbollah terrorists launched a barrage of rockets towards the area where our forces are operating in the village. One of the rockets hit near a building inside the Lebanese village – where a force from the battalion was staying. Inside the building were fighters from the 89th Battalion, as well as fighters from a logistics convoy – which was just about to leave the place after renewing the supply of the force for the continuation of the fighting.

As a result of the rocket impact, a total of 24 fighters were injured – 5 of them were killed, 4 more seriously seriously wounded, 7 more moderately wounded, and 8 more lightly wounded.. All of the wounded were evacuated by drag and drop, from the densely built-up area.”

IDF/IAF Activity In Lebanon Last Night

From the IDF Spokesman:

Statement 1:

“Overnight, the IAF conducted intelligence-based strikes on several weapons storage facilities and command centers of Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters and aerial defense units in the area of Dahieh, a key Hezbollah terrorist stronghold.”

Statement 2:

“Overnight, with the direction of IDF intelligence, the IAF struck Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites in the Jousieh border crossing the northern Beqaa area.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization exploits the Jousieh civilian crossing, which is under the control of the Syrian regime and is operated by Syrian military security, to transfer weapons used by the terrorist organization to carry out numerous terrorist operations against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

The weapons are transferred from Syria to Lebanon by Hezbollah’s 4400 Unit, the group’s force-building and cooperation unit, and are intended to be used against Israeli civilians and IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon.”

IDF Activity in Gaza

More and more Hamas terrorists continue surrendering in northern Gaza after being given an ultimatum to “surrender or die”:

From the IDF Spokesman:

“IDF and ISA forces are operating in the area of the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, based on intelligence information regarding the presence of terrorists and terrorist infrastructure in the area.

In the weeks preceding the operation, the IDF facilitated the evacuation of patients from the area while maintaining emergency services.

Since the start of operational activity in Jabaliya, approximately 45,000 Palestinian civilians have evacuated, and IDF troops have eliminated hundreds of terrorists.”

Tragic Figures

The Association of Bereaved Families released these statistics yesterday that show after a year of war:

5,200 families have been broken apart:

1,590 parents mourning their children

306 widows left alone

645 children growing up without a parent

2,730 siblings grieving their loved ones.

No Alarms!

It turns out that since October 7th last year, there are only 5 areas in the entire country that have not had missile alarms.

All of them are in the far south and along the Egyptian border:

Kibbutz Elifaz, Timna Park in the southern Arava, Kibbutz Samar, Arandal Ranch, Shaharut Hotel in the Eilot region, and Ezuz in Nitsana.

And so it goes this Friday mid-afternoon in Israel . . .
