The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
A knife-wielding Palestinian terrorist was captured by an alert Border Guard at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron before she could wound or kill anyone. Here’s a photo of the “little knife” that was seized from her:
Meanwhile on the Gaza maritime border, Israeli commandos intercepted a boat carrying weapons to Hamas. One of the terrorists captured was the elusive Mahmoud Bachar, a senior Hamas member who heads the terror organization’s smuggling operation:
Every time Israel increases the “fishing range” of Palestinian fishermen what we are really doing is increasing the smuggling range of Palestinian terrorists.
The daily Corona update . . .
As of 7:00 am this morning (Thursday):
There are 19,783 confirmed cases of whom 15,487 have recovered. 36 Israelis are in serious condition 29 of whom are on ventilators. 303 Israelis have died.
At Israeli schools:
*635 school children and staff have tested positive (out of 2,500,000)
*177 schools (out of 5,200–and 20,000 kindergartens) have closed because of those 635 students and staff.
One would have thought that with the increasing number of Corona cases that the “Corona Cabinet” which met last night would have required more closures.
But just the opposite.
Subject to regulations, everything is now open– from concert halls to trains.
However, for example, the process of getting on a train is so onerous that ridership promises to be greatly reduced: a person has to buy a train “voucher” online for the trip he/she wants to take (there’s a limit of 500 per train) and show the train voucher upon entering the station. At that point, the prospective rider is checked for fever and symptoms–and only after being cleared is allowed to board the train while observing social distancing.
If a person misses the train, then the whole process must be repeated, with a new voucher.

Fewer than two weeks and counting . . .
Now that Americans have demanded that Kahol Lavan be on board with any sovereignty declaration, PM Netanyahu called in Benny Gantz and Gabi Ashkenazi yesterday for a “sovereignty discussion” at which he presented them with four possible maps.
The maps ranged from one showing what would happen territorially if Israel declares sovereignty over 30% of Area C all the way to one that showed what would happen if only about 5% were declared. Apparently, Netanyahu did not tell Gantz and Ashkenazi which map he preferred.
For their part, Gantz and Ashknazi outrageously demanded that each step that Israel takes be accompanied by a package of benefits given to the Palestinians.
Apparently, the meeting ended without any decisions being made.
It is now fewer than two weeks until July 1 when Netanyahu is expected to make a sovereignty annoucement.
In case you have missed it . . .
The newest infiltrations into Israel are coming from the Lebanese border where Sudanese and others are slipping into Israel supposedly in order to get a job.
The phenomenon raises the real question of “if it is so easy for Sudanese economic migrants to cross the Lebanese border, then how difficult is it for heavily armed Hezbollah terrorists to do the same?”
TODAY’S BLOG:
A Foreshadowing Of What Is To Come?
Three days ago, we showed you a photo of the destruction wrought by “officials” from Israel’s Civil Administration at the fledgling Jewish community of Maoz Esther near Shahar in Samaria. (Click here).
Similar destruction has been taking place in small Jewish communities over the past week. All of the places where the destruction has been taking places are in “isolated” small communities which are earmarked by the Trump Peace Plan to become enclaves in a new Palestinian state.
What is going to happen to those 19+ communities if they are the mercy of the Palestinians? Take a look at what happened at Maoz Esther last night:
Click on here for a short video of the above.
What happened at Esther Maoz last night is what will happen to every isolated community. They will be beset by Palestinian arsonists attempting to burn the community down or Palestinian terrorists who attempt to break in the community and massacre its inhabitants.
Short of placing an IDF contingent in each community (which Israel clearly has no interest in doing because it is already trying to destroy these communities), there will be no way for community members to protect themselves–except by taking matters into their own hands.
As for Esther Maoz, its residents are ever resilient. Even after their homes were destroyed three days ago and fires ravaged the area last night, they were back at work today rebuilding their community:
Kolakevod to all of the brave souls out at Esther Maoz!
