A Follow-up To Our Post About The Israeli Reservist
You will recall that we reported several days ago about how an Israeli reservist was dismissed from service because he dared write online that the “don’t shoot” order given to Staff Sgt. Bar-el Shmueli’s group was absurd, and that if he were given the same order not to fire on terrorists, he would disobey the order.
Following his dismissal, more than 30 fellow reservists in the same battalion have resigned in protest over the “don’t shoot” orders and in support of the reservist.
In addition, dozens of mothers, wives, and girlfriends of soldiers serving on the Gaza border are preparing to engage in marches in protest of how the government and the IDF are neutering their loved ones in the face of Palestinian terror. Your humble servant plans to join them.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists using “rocks” critically wounded a 36-year-old woman who was driving on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road. MADA evacuated her to a Jerusalem hospital where she underwent brain surgery.
Palestinian terrorists using “rocks” and Molotovs tried to kill Israelis at Migdal Oz, on Road 55 between Azzun and Karnei Shomron, Al-Aruv, on the Jerusalem-Gush Etzion Road near the Al-Khader Junction, at the Ma’ale Lavona Junction, between the Al-Khader Junction and the Tunnel Checkpoint, between Al Khader and the North Efrat Junction, and at numerous other places.
All of this and our ultra-leftist Coalition Government is rushing to embrace the PLO.
The insanity on the Gaza border continues . . .
It was another day of explosive balloons launched from Gaza and another night of violent assaults against our soldiers on the Border Fence.
So . . . what is Israel’s response this morning?
The IDF announced that the IDF General Staff and the government have agreed to:
–increase the fishing (aka weapons smuggling) area off the coast of Gaza to 15 nautical miles
–increase the water supply to Hamas Gaza by an addition 5 million cubic meters
–increase the quota of Gazan (aka Hamas) traders passing through the Erez Crossing by 5,000 bringing to 7,000 the total number
–expand the amount of goods flowing through the Kerem Shalom Crossing to include concrete, iron, and gravel for “private building”
The whipped cream on the top of this insanity cake is this statement from the IDF spokesman: “The civilian measures approved by the political echelon are conditional on the continued maintenance of security stability over time, and their expansion will be examined in accordance with the assessment of the situation.”
As we have endlessly pointed out, all of the measures benefit Hamas and Islamic Jihad, not civilians–and are conditional on nothing. The more that the terrorists in Gaza attack us, the more we give them to build tunnels and missile launchers.
Absolute insanity.
Where is the morality? . . .
It turns out that during the most recent mini-war the IDF knew the exact location of Hamas terror architect Muhammad Deif, but did not assassinate him because he was ensconced in a location surrounded by civilians (read loyal Hamasniks).
We learned this via the IDF spokesman yesterday who preached: “The IDF has clear morals, values and commands and guidelines and must abide by them even if it is frustrating.”
Yes, the IDF has morals, clearly ones developed by the IDF General Command after taking endless “humanitarian seminars” which teach that it it is more moral to protect our enemies than to protect ourselves.
And so, Muhammad Def lives on to organize more wars in an attempt to kill as many Israeli children, women, and men as possible.
About the fires in Jerusalem . . .
The Police released statistics today that show that 126 fires started by arsonists in the Jerusalem area so far in 2021 have been “nationalistic”. In other words, they were started by Palestinian terrorists.
This compares to only 2o such fires in 2020, and 28 in 2019.

TODAY’S BLOG
Who Do You Believe?
(with apologies to grammarians who would insist on “Whom”)
It strikes your humble servant that we have recently been bombarded with fake information on everything from what happened when Staff Sgt. Bar-El Shmueli was murdered to Judea/Samaria to Afghanistan.
This morning we present 5 examples situations in which we have two competing narratives; I would like for you, dear reader, to tell me who you believe is telling the truth.
1. The “Don’t Shoot” orders on the Gaza Border
IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi is rushing out this morning with the hastily concluded results of an investigation into what happened when Border Policeman Shmueli was shot in the face at point blank range.
The investigation will report that there were no “Don’t Shoot” orders given, and in fact, commanders on the ground told the Border Policemen snipers they could open fire if their lives were in danger. The results include “information” from the Gaza Health Ministry that two Palestinians were killed in the riot and 40 more were wounded. It even implies that Staff Sgt. Shmueli was at fault by claiming that 5 of those supposedly killed or wounded were shot by him.
Contrast this tale of events with interviews of the other Border Policemen in the unit as well as numerous other IDF soldiers stationed along the Border Fence who say that they how have a standing order of “Don’t Shoot”, and that anyone who disobeys that order will be court-martialed.
In regard to the specific incident, all of the members of Shmueli’s unit state emphatically that no one opened fire.
Who do you believe?
The IDF General Command or the Border Policemen and IDF soldiers on the ground?
2. The money being being paid to the PLO
Yesterday, Knesset Legislator Bezalel Smotrich alleged that Israeli taxpayer money collected in Judea nd Samaria is being used to fund the salaries of PLO terrorist murderers who are in Israeli prisons.
Specifically, Smotrich stated that 100 million shekels out of the 500 million shekels that Benny Gantz promised PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah the other day will come from the Civil Administration Fund which is funded by the taxes paid by Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria for business and construction.
Smotrich wrote on Facebook that “The Government of Israel has a complete loss of values. The citizens of Israel, the residents of Judea and Samaria, including the families of the victims of terrorism, will fund the terrorists who murdered their children. It is outrageous. I call on members of the government who still have a drop of morals left in them. Stop this madness.”
In response, Benny Gantz and the Civil Administration (both intimately involved in permitting illegal Palestinian construction in Area C and razing Jewish community construction) issued a dismissive statement this morning saying that the money “does not originate from the Israeli taxpayers’ public fund.”
Who do you believe?
Bezalel Smotrich or Benny Gantz and the Civil Administration?
3. The Biden nap
As you know, we blogged the other day that President Biden snoozed through part of PM Bennett’s remarks in the Oval Office last Friday.
Yesterday, CNN produced “experts” which stated that the photos and video showing Biden asleep were “fabricated” and that Biden was wide awake and alert the entire time.
Who do you believe?
CNN or . . . ?
4. No political negotiations with the Palestinians
PM Bennett claims that he will never support political negotiations with the PLO. This despite the fact that Benny Gantz went to Ramallah as aforementioned and talked with PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas about the political situation.
This morning the Egyptian al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper reports that plans that were in the works for a summit at Sharm el-Sheikh including PM Bennett, Abbas, Egyptian president Sisi, and Jordan’s King Abdullah have been postponed so that Abbas-Sisi-Abdullah can meet first to adopt a united Arab position on negotiations “prior to talks with the U.S. about negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
Who do you believe?
PM Bennett or . . .?
5. The “extraordinary success” of the Afghan evacuation
President Biden went to the media yesterday to proclaim that his Afghan evacuation was an “extraordinary success”. This despite the deaths of 13 American soldiers, the rampant killings of American supporters being carried out throughout Afghanistan, and the leaving behind 250 Americans (at a minimum) and thousands of Afghanis who worked for the U.S. and are desperately seeking a way out.
And there is this:
Who do you believe?
President Biden or your own eyes?
By the way, how long do you think it will be until some of these weapons end up in the hands of the enemies on our borders?
