The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
IED, Molotov, “rock” attacks:
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis at Karmi Tzur, the small Yitzhar Junction, the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road near Beit Omer, between Migdalim and Tapuach, on Road 458 between Kochav Hashar and Al Muayyir, the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road near the archaeological site, on Road 446 near Shukba, between Homesh and Shavi Shomron (3 Israelis wounded), south of Na’ama, north of Givat Assaf near Beitin, on Road 446 on the Abood Bypass, and at numerous other locations.
A U.S.-Iranian-Saudi-Israeli deal? . . .
An unconfirmed report this morning in the Israeli media states that the United States is trying to mediate a deal whereby Israel would accept a nuclear deal with Iran in exchange for “normalization” of relations with Saudi Arabia.
If this is true, it just indicates how incredibly naive the Bidenites are in Washington.
Just yesterday, Iran announced that it is forming a joint naval force with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, India, and Pakistan. The announcement came 2 days after the U.A.E. announced it has withdrawn from the U.S.-led naval coalition in the Arabian Gulf.
Our amazing under-20 soccer team! . . .
You read that correctly. Israel defeated Brazil 3-2 in a spectacular come from behind win.
We now face Uruguay (which defeated the U.S. 2-0) in the semifinals.

1 Zip Tie
More details on the murders of our 3 soldiers on the Egyptian border are slowly emerging:
—The terrorist was 22 years old. Whether he was a member of any number of terror groups that have infiltrated the Egyptian Police/Army is unknown.
—To be more precise about what we reported yesterday: the terrorist was carrying an AK-47, 6 clips of ammunition, several knives, and a Koran.
—The terrorist walked from his Egyptian police station 6 km to the place where the attack took place–where he used his knife to cut the zip tie holding the gate.
Yes, you read that correctly: 1 zip tie was holding the gate.
— Soldiers Lia Ben-Nun and Ori Iluz, who were murdered at the outpost, did not fire their guns. Why? Soldiers along that border have a device placed in their guns that must be removed before the gun can be fired. Perhaps they didn’t have time, or perhaps they were asleep, or perhaps they were simply caught by surprise.
–Ohad Dahani, who was killed in the firefight with the terrorist, was hit with a spray of bullets from the terrorist’s elevated fortified position 200 meters away. Why the soldiers did not wait for aerial support remains unknown.
–There is still no explanation for the outrageous fact that between 4:15 am when communication with Ben-Nun and Iluz was lost and 9:00 am–no one bothered to check on them.
The bottom line remains that this was an egregious IDF failure: 1 zip tie, placing 2 soldiers in an isolated dangerous area, no checking on those soldiers when communications were lost, and storming a terrorist when an aerial attack could have easily done the job.
