UPDATE: Synagogue in Tel Aviv-Jaffo firebombed last night. No injuries reported but extensive damage.
The extent to which Palestinian culture glorifies murder, terrorism, and death is difficult to comprehend.
In the last week, Hamas’ military wing, the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades, has proudly published that during the last 11 years, Hamas has carried out 4303 “actions” against Israeli men, women, and children. In addition to these actions, Hamas notes that it has fired 8085 Qassam and Grad rockets at the citizens of southern Israel.
Even more proudly, Hamas boasts that it has killed 910 Israeli citizens and seriously wounded 4454 more. In long lists of murderous terroristic attacks called ‘Pages of Glory’, Hamas includes its anti-tank missile attack on the Israeli schoolbus earlier this year, the bombing at the Park Hotel in Netanya (referenced in the above picture), and the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit.
One might expect such a publication to elicit world condemnation, but because it is published in Arabic, no one reads it–except Arabs. For years, many have pointed out that Palestinians have one message to the Western world and another to the Palestinian and Arab world. Nowhere is this more evident than on the Hamas website.
So your humble servant thought this morning, dear reader, that we would do a little research together. First, if you are so inclined–and please don’t do this if you are in a country in which you think you may be exposing yourself to government monitoring by doing so, click on the following link which will take you the Hamas military wing English version website: www.qassam.ps Take a look around the page and draw your own conclusions. For example, notice at the top that there is also an Arabic version and even a Turkish version (no doubt to sing the praises of the Gazan savior Turkish PM Erdogan).
So now that you have the format of the page in mind, click on the following link for the Arabic version (or just click on ‘Arabic’ at the top of the page): Arabic version–if you don’t read Arabic, you can do this in Google Chrome where the Arabic will be somewhat crudely translated–but well enough translated to understand details and get the gist of things.

Aside from the fact that the layout and content of the Arabic page are completely different from that of the English version, note that on the top of the page there is a blue strip that contains four menu choices. Just under that is a light gray strip that contains 10 menu choices. All of these menu choices differ from the ones on the English version of the website.
Moving from right to left in the light gray strip, stop and click on 3rd tab and you will be taken to a ‘martyr’ page–a short list of terrorists who have died committing terrorist crimes against Israel–or who died in training to commit terrorist crimes (you will notice on this website that Hamas has an extraordinarily large number of deaths ‘in training’ which apparently doesn’t affect the dead one’s ‘martyrdom’ status). Click on other tabs as well.
Page after page is a paean to death and so-called ‘martyrdom’.
Clicking on the 6th tab will take us to another page not included on the English site: a “Statistics” page which includes “Pages of Glory”. These “pages of glory” are lists of all of the terrorist attacks Hamas has proudly carried out against Israeli men, women, and children–attacks that Hamas always denies having made when talking to the Western media. It is from this page that the information that started this blog today was taken.
One final note: remember the picture at the top of this blog of the destruction at the Park Hotel in Netanya in 2002. Six months ago, the PLO (Palestinian) Authority honored the terrorist mastermind of the massacre by giving a festive plaque to the terrorist’s family.
Glorifying the murder of Israelis and glorifying Palestinian deaths: this is the culture of the Palestinians–the same Palestinians that Israel is supposed to make peace with.
