—>Today was a relatively quiet day in Jerusalem for two very different reasons.
On the one hand, the idiotic Netanyahu government and Jerusalem Police rewarded the Muslims for all of their violence by removing all age restrictions for so-called Muslim “worshipers” to go to the Temple Mount. To put it a different way, the government took many rioters off the streets by encouraging them to go to the holiest site in Judaism.
On the other hand, the Police cracked down on the Issawiya neighborhood near Mt. Scopus by putting concrete road blocks at three of the four entrances. Much of the recent violence has emanated from Issawiya, and it is the home of the terrorist who murdered two Israelis in the car attack at a Jerusalem Light Rail train stop a few weeks ago.
—>But the quietness in Jerusalem stood in marked contrast to what happened today in Judea, Samaria, and Israel.
*Two Palestinians were captured attempting to blow up a military court in Salem, Samaria. They arrived in the court carrying IEDs with the intent of killing three judges who sit on the military panel there.
*Around 150 Palestinians easily crossed over the separation fence at Qalandiya today by merely climbing over the fence with ladders. No one made any effort to stop them. Once over, they held a demonstration against the fence and began a march toward Jerusalem.
*In the Israeli-Arab city of Umm al-Fahm more than 1500 Israeli Arabs carrying Palestinian flags marched through the streets.
*In Kafr Kana, more than 500 protestors held a demonstration against Israeli sovereignty on the Temple Mount.
*In Hebron some 300 Palestinian rioters attacked Israeli security forces with “rocks”, Molotov cocktails, and other IEDs.
—>As suggested several days ago on israelstreet, the Netanyahu coalition is inching ever closer to collapse with reports yesterday that Lapid of Yesh Atid is actively beginning to form an “alternative coalition”. Also, speaking at the super-leftist “One Voice Movement” conference yesterday, Tzipi Livni strongly indicated that she is on the verge of exiting the government.
A poll this week indicates that if an election were held tomorrow, Lapid’s party would only receive about 10 seats in the Knesset, and Livni’s party would receive none. If they are going to leave the government, they need to act before new elections are called.
—>The Israel Foreign Ministry has finally begun to exercise at least a modicum of common sense. Within the last few days:
*Israel has announced that it will not permit so-called “human rights” lawyer William Schabas to enter Israel. A viciously anti-Israel activist, Schabas was appointed by the equally venemous U.N. Human Rights Council to head its “probe” into this past summer’s war.
Schabas is currently sitting in Amman awaiting a visa to get into Israel so that he can make it to the Gaza border. The decision by the Foreign Ministry means that Schabas will be forced to go to Cairo in order to get a visa from Egypt to enter Gaza through the Rafah Crossing.
*Mads Gilbert, a rabidly anti-Israel Norwegian doctor who virtually lives in Gaza, has been barred from entering Gaza from Israel for life. This means that in order to get in and out of Gaza from now on, Gilbert will be forced to do so via Egypt.
Gilbert is no ordinary doctor having broadcast political diatribes against Israel from Gaza during the most recent war. A member of the Norwegian Maoist Party, he has made a career of Israel bashing–after having made a name for himself by supporting the 9/11 attacks against the U.S.

The trilateral meeting with Kerry, Abdullah, and Netanyahu in Amman has concluded with a spate of absurd comments coming out from all concerned. Today we will merely focus on the U.S. Secretary of State.
First from Kerry: “Jordan has played a historic role as the custodians of the Haram Al-Sharif.”
Say what Mr. Secretary of State?
Jordan, the country that ethnically cleansed the Old City of every Jew between 1948-1967 and supervised the destruction and defilement of every Jewish synagogue under its “protection” has played a historic role?
And Haram Al-Sharif? Guess what Mr. Kerry, your “Haram al-Sharif” was the home of the Jewish Temples both built and destroyed for almost 1700 years before the Muslims ever showed up in Jerusalem.
Kerry again: “We are working to smother the sparks of immediate tension so that they don’t become a fire that is absolutely out of control.”
Another joke. Kerry has done nothing but fan the fires of Palestinian nationalism from the day he took office demanding never ending Israeli concessions to a corrupt and illegitimate PLO.
Kerry again: “PM Netanyahu promised to maintain the status quo at the site.”
In case we have all forgotten, it was the Jordanian Islamic Wakf that changed the status quo on the Mount by paying terrorists to attack Jews who were exercising their religious freedom to come to the Mount.
Kerry again on the subject of Mahmoud Abbas: “Abbas strongly restated his firm commitment to nonviolence, and he made it clear that he will do everything possible to restore calm and to prevent the incitement of violence and to try to change the climate.”
Hahahahahahahahahaha. Surely this is a sick joke. No one has done more to incite violence in Jerusalem than Mahmoud Abbas.
All in all, this meeting in Amman was just one more installment in the comedy known as “The Kerry Show” that has made John Kerry (and the Obama Administration) the laughing stock of everyone in the Middle East.
