**Apparently, Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, whom President Obama is fond of calling “The Supreme Leader”, is in critical condition this morning at a Tehran hospital suffering from severe complications of prostate cancer.
Ironically, this news comes on Purim, the holiday on which Jews celebrate their deliverance in the ancient Persian city of Shushan. According to the story, Queen Esther and her uncle Mordechai saved the Jews from the king’s evil viceroy Haman.
No schools are open today in Israel, and most people have taken a day off from work. People are exchanging gifts of food (mishloach manot) with some very unusual and tasty variations. Last night, one of our close friends in the neighborhood who was born in Morocco brought us “the eyes of Haman”–hard boiled eggs wrapped in strips of sweet Challah-type bread:

In the wake of the newest scandal surrounding COGAT, the IDF unit which is in charge of administering services to the Palestinian state in Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria as well as the Palestinian state in Gaza, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai announced yesterday that the amount of water that Israel supplies Gaza will be doubled from 5 to 10 million cu. meters per year.
You will recall from yesterday’s blog that a widespread network of Israeli traitors has been selling Hamas weapons right under the noses of COGAT. In shipment after shipment of “humanitarian supplies” into Gaza which were supposed to have been scrutinized by COGAT, Hamas and its fellow criminals shipped in more than 100,000 pounds of metal for missiles and tunnels as well as earth moving machinery, electronics, and communication equipment.
But that hasn’t stopped COGAT from pushing ahead with its water plan. In what can only be described as a surreal statement announcing the doubling, Mordechai said that he hoped that Hamas would not steal the water meant for civilians as they have stolen the construction materials meant for rehabilitation of houses in Gaza.
Say what?
Isn’t Mordechai’s statement a perfect example of the definition of insanity?
COGAT knows that smugglers have just covertly smuggled in more than 100,000 pounds of weapons materials for Hamas in “humanitarian shipments”.
COGAT knows that Hamas is overtly stealing construction materials allowed into Gaza by Israel for home reconstruction for its use in building more tunnels and weapons.
COGAT is now doubling the water supply and is hoping that Hamas won’t take it?
Sheer, unadulterated insanity.
