**Let’s get this straight.
With the first hint of Western sanctions relief for Iran this past week, Vladimir Putin rushed in to sell S-300 missiles to Iran–missiles specifically designed to shoot down possible Israeli aircraft seeking to attack the Iranian nuclear weapons program.
In his next breath, yesterday, Putin threatened that there would be major repercussions if Israel sells weapons to Ukraine.
This morning has Putin firing more verbal assaults at Israel because Israel will “only” send its Ambassador to Russia, Dorit Goldner, to Moscow for the victory parade marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Russia can arm Iran, and Israel is supposed to do nothing but smile.
**Various explosions rocked Gaza over the weekend–explosions detonated by Palestinians. First, an attempt was made to blow up Mahmoud Abbas’ home in western Gaza City. This was followed by an attack on UNRWA offices. A third attack occurred near the Islamic University next to the Hamas Attorney General’s office.
As of this hour, no one seems to know if this is the start of internecine conflict within Palestinian factions or something else. Who is blowing up whom?
**Yesterday afternoon, Israel’s Shin Bet stopped an attempt to smuggle 18 tons of coal into Gaza. According to Shin Bet, the coal could be used for weapons production.
Is this laughable or what?
The Israel Defense Forces COGAT unit has surrealistically agreed to transfer into Gaza thousands of tons of concrete and steel which it says that it knows that Hamas is using to build more tunnels and weapons.
And Shin Bet is worried about 18 tons of coal? Maybe Shin Bet should arrest the idiots in the IDF General Staff and COGAT who are actively aiding in the rearming of Hamas.
**In the same vein of absurdity as the coal escapade above, an Israeli soldier was arrested on the Temple Mount this afternoon.
What was his crime?
According to the police, as the soldier left the Mount, he turned back toward the Kipat HaSela (Dome of the Mount) and “bowed slightly” toward where the Ark of the Covenant once rested upon the Foundation Stone.
He was immediately arrested.
Can you believe this? For the last two days, there have been full-blown rallies for Hamas on the Temple Mount, and the soldier was arrested for “bowing slightly”?
**It was reported this morning that Israel has just transferred almost 2,000,000,000 shekels of frozen December-March tax money to the PLO following an agreement reached this last week.
What that agreement is has not been revealed. Has the PLO finally agreed to pay some of the money it owes Israel for electricity, water, and medical services?
What do you think?
**Benjamin Netanyahu continues to have problems forming a coalition government. This morning Netanyahu asked for and received a two week extension.

TODAY’S BLOG:
Your humble servant has been amazed in the last week to read a rash of revisionist statements and articles which suggest that if Hillary Clinton is elected as the next U.S. president, she will be better for Israel than Barack Obama.
Here’s a sample.
Democratic fund raiser Haim Saban: “Everything Hillary Clinton will do will always be for Israel.”
A New York Times article: “Clinton Wants To Improve Ties with Israel” in which Malcolm Hoenline, the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations says: “Secretary Clinton thinks we need to all work together to return the special U.S.-Israel relationship to constructive footing, to get back to basic shared concerns and interests, including a two-state solution pursued through direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. We must ensure that Israel never becomes a partisan issue.”
When your humble servant reads statements and articles like these, he wants to throw up.
Hillary Clinton a friend of Israel?
Have people forgotten how viciously Clinton attacked Israel from 2009 to 2012? Clinton went out of her way time and again to vehemently castigate Israel for its construction of housing in Jerusalem–even to the point of calling apartments in Jerusalem “settlements”.
It was she who led the Obama charge to shut down the peace process with the Palestinians until Israel froze all construction in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria.
And then, when Netanyahu did agree to a 10 month cessation of construction in Judea and Samaria in November of 2009, it was Clinton who demanded more and more Israeli concessions such as the release of Palestinian terrorist murderers to get the PLO back to the so-called “negotiating table.”
Hillary Clinton a friend of Israel?
What a joke. Clinton’s new found friendship with Israel is nothing more than a nauseating ploy to receive donations and votes from American Jews.
A Clinton presidency would be four more years of Barack Obama–and all of the “distancing” from Israel that Obama has already “achieved.”
A Clinton presidency would mean four more years of the U.S. attempting to undermine the democratically elected government of Israel in favor of Israeli leftists.
A Clinton presidency would mean four more years of sycophantic J Street in the Oval Office delegitimizing Israel at every turn.
A Clinton presidency would mean four more years of America adopting the Palestinian negotiating position and attempting to wring concessions out of Israel.
Hillary Clinton is no friend of Israel.
