German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Jerusalem today:
“We have to look for options with the Palestinians. The situation in Gaza is very hard; we have to think about the reconstruction of Gaza. Israel’s security is tied to the prosperity of Gaza because none of us want another war between Israel and Gaza.”
Steinmeier is just another stupid European meddling in something he knows nothing about. What Steinmeier is incapable of understanding is that prosperity in Gaza has nothing to do with security for Israel. The Hamas charter which Hamas leaders refer to everyday calls for killing Jews in general and killing Jews in Israel in particular. Prosperity for Gaza means more money for Palestinian terrorists in Gaza to spend on making weapons to kill Jews.
**Maybe the time has come to start a column to keep track of the laws being proposed by Israel Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked.
You will remember that last week, Shaked obtained ministerial approval (the law must now go for three readings in the Knesset) for a law greatly expanding punishments for so-called “rock throwers” in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria. If the law is finally approved, the maximum penalty will be 20 years in prison. We will call this Shaked Law 1.
Missed in the reportage about that proposed law was another proposed law which will ban the use and possession of cellular phones by terrorist prisoners. One would have thought that this would have been impossible anyway, but an incident last week involving Abdullah Barghouti–currently serving 67 life sentences for murder–has shown otherwise. Barghouti used a cell phone in prison last week to talk to Hamas radio and urge attacks on Israel.
Shaked Law 2 will absolutely ban the possession and use of such phones by security prisoners. It, too, received ministerial approval and is on its way to the Knesset.

If the last line of this poem sounds like a combination of what Jews have thought about Jerusalem since it became our capital more than 3000 years ago, and the lament of exiled Jews in Babylon thousands of years ago (“if I ever forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill . . .”), it should.
The PLO has taken every phrase and sentence of Judaism and co-opted them for use by the Palestinians. The indoctrination begins in PLO nursery schools and kindergartens–particularly those operated by UNRWA.
It has never abated for one second since the PLO and UNRWA took over control of Palestinian schools in Judea and Samaria in the aftermath of the Oslo Accords. It is this incitement that means that for generations to come there will be no peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
