Another Day of Ramadan, Another Israeli Murdered

**Bravo to the U.S. Congress:

The Congress finally passed the fast-track trade bill yesterday and sent the new bill to the desk of Barack Obama to be signed into law.

Of particular interest to Israel are provisions that require European rejection of BDS as an integral part of any trade agreement with the United States. The provisions were certainly not Obama’s idea, but a bipartisan effort of four U.S. Congressmen: Ben Cardin (Democrat, Maryland), Rob Portman (Republican, Ohio), Peter Roskam (Republican, Illinois), and Juan Vargas (Democrat, California).

Congressman Roskam had this to say after the passage:

“Today, for the first time in nearly four decades, Congress sent legislation to the President’s desk to combat efforts to isolate and delegitimize the State of Israel. The recent wave of boycotts originating in Europe, including French telecom company Orange’s decision last week to sever ties with Israel, demands a robust response from the United States. This is that response. The bipartisan TPA provisions I authored are simple: if you want free trade with the United States, you can’t boycott Israel.

After today, discouraging economic warfare against Israel will be central to our free trade negotiations with the European Union. Congress will not be complicit in the marginalization of our ally Israel by watching these attacks from the sidelines. Instead, we have decided to fight back against the BDS movement and ensure the continued strength of the US-Israel relationship.”

By the way, the passage of the law was a ringing defeat for the BDS movement, J Street, Peace Now, and a host of other anti-Israel groups that opposed the provisions of the law.

**Bravo to the Jewish community members in Samaria:

To honor the memory of Daniel Gonen, Jewish community members are organizing a large scale event tomorrow morning at 10:30 at the Ein Buvin spring. You may remember that Gonen and a friend had just visited the spring when they were hailed down by a Palestinian asking for help.

The terrorist then murdered Gonen by shooting him at point blank range.

The event is meant to signify that Jews will not stop visiting all parts of the land of Israel. It is an important message that must be restated time and again.

**According to a poll commissioned by the Truman Advancement for Peace at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Ramallah, support for the so-called “two-state solution” has declined among Israelis and Palestinians during the last year.

Among Israelis, support has dropped from 61% to 51% while among Palestinians it has dropped from 54% to 51%.

This finding is particularly interesting because polls from “leftist” entities such as Truman and Palestinian Center often exaggerate the support for the two-state solution.

On the issue of the “settlements”, the survey found that 38% of Israelis support evacuating some “settlements” in the context of a peace agreement, while 54% now oppose any such evacuation.

**The war in Syria, the Sinai, and Gaza rages on:

The battle for the Druze town of Khader continues full force with Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah fighters now entering the fray against IS affiliated Jabhat al Nucera. Reports yesterday indicate that neither side gained any ground in the fighting–however at least 3 Iranian soldiers were killed.

Hezbollah announced that Mustafa Mughniyeh, yet another son of Imad Mughniyeh whom Israel assassinated, has taken control of Hezbollah forces on the Syrian side of the Golan.  You may remember that Jihad Mughniyeh,  Mustafa’s brother and another of Imad’s sons, was killed in an Israeli strike a number of months ago.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian border with Gaza erupted in gunfire this morning as units of the Egyptian Army battled terrorists from Gaza. On Tuesday, Egyptian forces reported that they had killed nearly 50 terrorists in the Sinai.

By the way, IS announced yesterday that when Ramadan is over, it will begin a full-scale war for control of Gaza.

**The slimy Ban Ki-Moon strikes again:

Yesterday, Israel declared that we are revoking the entry permits of 500 men and women to come into Israel tomorrow from Gaza to “worship” on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.  This revocation was the direct result of the missile fire into Israel on Tuesday night.

Within minutes of this declaration, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon issued a statement calling on Israel to rescind the revocation. Even more, his spokesman added that Moon “encourages Israel to sustain and expand these confidence-building measures which enable the legitimate movement of people and goods in and between Gaza and the West Bank including East-Jerusalem, and improve the quality of life of Palestinians.”

Not a word about the terrorism emanating from Gaza. Not a word about missiles raining down on southern Israel again. Not a word about anything except the “poor Palestinians.”

Of course, the utterly corrupt Moon also has a financial interest in Qatar’s reconstruction of Gaza. You may remember that it was Qatar which jet-set Moon all over the Middle East during last summer’s war, and it is Qatar that will undoubtedly employ Moon once his terrible tenure as Secretary General ends.

**Talk about being corrupt, how about John Kerry?

Back on January 2 of this year, your humble servant wrote the following update:

Last week, the Israeli comptroller announced his intention to break up the oil and gas monopolies in Israel. Of particular interest are the oil and gas wells off the coast which are in the control of a very few companies.  Those companies have agreements to sell some of the oil and gas to the Egyptians and Jordanians. Upon discovering the Israel government intent to break up the monopolies, who should appear on the scene except John Kerry. The U.S. Secretary of State immediately contacted various Israeli officials to argue against the break-up saying that it would endanger regional peace efforts.

We mention this today because of an article that appeared in the Calcalist yesterday revealing that according financial statements filed by Kerry, he held more than a $1,000,000 of Noble Energy stock at the beginning of 2015. It was he who had engineered the Israel-Jordan-Egypt deal to begin with, and he who was determined that Israel not break up the monopoly held by Noble Energy and Delek.

TODAY’S BLOG:

If you want to get a sense of just how porous and ripe for terrorism Israel is, think about the fact that according to the IDF, there are at least 80,000 illegal Palestinians in Israel at any given moment.

80,000.

These illegal Palestinians find jobs in restaurants, at construction sites, and in agricultural locations. They are also hired off the streets by individual Israelis who want to build a new room on their house, or paint the exterior of their house, or for a million other reasons. Where do all of these Palestinians sleep every night? In the back rooms of restaurants, at construction sites, and in agricultural locations.

There is a distinctly unsavory alliance between employers of illegal Palestinians, and the police who do virtually nothing to stop them from coming into the country and virtually nothing to get them out of the country once they are here. For example, there are illegal Palestinians living in your humble servant’s neighborhood here in Ashdod. They are building new houses–and sleeping in the unfinished houses at night. When they are not working or sleeping, they wander through our neighborhood, or go to the beach, or go shopping at local grocery stores.

80,000.

How many of these 80,000 are terrorists? How many of them would kill Israelis if given the chance? On numerous occasions, we have contacted the Ashdod police to alert them to suspicious characters, but the Ashdod police do absolutely nothing. Obviously, the same thing happens in other communities as well.

Yesterday, we saw yet again the result of this “do-nothing” Israeli policy toward illegal Palestinians.

David Bar Kapra, a 70-year-old grape farmer living in Moshav Pedaya near Rehovot, was beaten to death by two Palestinian terrorists who had been living in his orchard under the guise of being agricultural workers.

During the attack, Bar managed to call for help and identify his assailants, but by the time the police and MADA arrived, he was unconscious on the ground with severe bruising and bleeding to his upper body and head. After being treated at the scene, he was carried to Assaf Harofeh Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The terrorists remain at large in the Rehovot area this morning.

Another day of Ramadan, another Israeli murdered . . .
