***Last night, Israel’s Shin Bet announced . . .

 . . . that a five-man cell of Palestinian Hamas terrorists are under arrest for the murders of Na’ama and Eitam Hinkin, and for carrying out two other shooting attacks in Samaria. The terrorists, whose names will not be given on this blog, range in age from 35 (the squad leader) to 23 (two of the “shooters”). Several of the terrorists had been recently released from prison where they were incarcerated for previous terror attacks.

According to Shin Bet, the terrorists were captured within 36 hours of the murders, and recounted how they ran down the Hinkin’s car, got out, went to both sides of the car, and opened fire with automatic weapons.

***One of the most disturbing aspects of the Hinkins’ murders . . .

 . . . has been the way that the leftist Israeli TV channels and print media (notably the Jerusalem Post) ran reports and published articles suggesting that the terrorists “showed mercy” because they did not kill the Hinkin’s four children in the back of the car.

It turns out of course that no mercy was involved.

According to their confessions, the terrorists had every intention of killing the children as well, but in the bullets flying across the car from both sides from the two shooters, one terrorist actually shot the other terrorist by mistake causing him to drop his gun.

At that point, with the headlights of an oncoming car approaching, the terrorists decided to abandon their plan, escape the scene, and rush their wounded cohort to a nearby hospital.

By last night, Israel’s Channel 2 had issued an apologetic retraction about its report on the “merciful” terrorists.

***Maybe Bibi has somewhat awakened . . .

Four battalions of IDF soldiers have now been sent into Judea and Samaria. The police presence in Jerusalem has been doubled and in places tripled. Neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem that have not seen an Israeli security presence for years now have police, Border Guards, and soldiers patrolling the streets. 2 homes of terrorists (from the Har Nof attack last year that killed 4 rabbis) were demolished this morning and another home was sealed.

Things seem to be moving in the right direction.

But let’s not give Netanyahu too much credit.

It turns out that behind the scenes several days ago, Naftali Bennett presented Netanyahu with a list of demands on specific actions that needed to be taken to stop the violence. Many of the actions being taken are those demanded by Bennett. Chief among his demands is an unfreezing of construction in Judea and Samaria.

Netanyahu has not acceded to that yet.

***Bennett is right . . .

With every murderous Palestinian terror attack, a new Jewish community should be built . . . Last week, such a community was started.

Fifty families marked out a new community between Itamar and Elon Moreh. The land there was acquired by the government 40 years ago to build a community, but no community ever was.

Palestinians use “rocks” to attack and kill; Jews use rocks to build. The leaders of the new community lay the cornerstones.

The question is: will the community survive or be destroyed by Netanyahu and Ya’alon?

The Palestinians are irate at the Egyptians for flooding the tunnels leading from Gaza into Rafah and turning the border into fish farms.

Already, three Palestinian terrorists have died in the flooded tunnels: one drowned and two were electrocuted.

Miraculously and thankfully, Adel Bennett’s situation continues to improve.

Yesterday, she described the gruesome sequence of events that took place when she, her husband Aaron, and her children were attacked on Saturday night.

In that attack Aaron was killed; she was critically wounded, and one of her two children was “moderately” wounded.

She and her husband were walking along a street of the Old City pushing baby carriages toward the Kotel to celebrate Sukkot when the attacker ambushed them from behind. She turned around and saw her husband fall and her child attacked; then she was stabbed in the chest and in the neck. Bleeding profusely with the knife still in her neck, she pleaded with nearby Arab women to help her save her children.

Their response was to laugh at her and spit on her and her children.

As Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi appeared and fought with the terrorist, she then heroically dragged herself into two nearby stores, pleading with Arab store owners to save her children. Nobody tried to help her; instead they shouted “Allahu Akbar” and “Hopefully, you’ll die too.” Finally, she passed out as Border Guards arrived on the scene.

At her son-in-law’s funeral on Sunday, Adel’s mother Miriam had this to say:

“My daughter tried to run away with a knife in her neck . . . such cruelty. The Jewish people should not be foolish and wake up. The Palestinians are a nation of murderers. Their entire essence is blood, blood, blood, Jewish blood. They have nothing else. Anyone who speaks of peace is an idiot, there is no other word.”

Miriam is absolutely correct.

Anyone who speaks of peace with the Palestinians is an idiot.
