***The Palestinian terror report: what happened yesterday . . .
Yesterday evening, the Netanyahu government announced that its new security measures were beginning to have an impact and that the situation had quietened considerably.
Nothing could have been further from the truth.
Tuesday was one of the worst days of Palestinian violence in the last five years in terms of the sheer number of attacks throughout Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem. More than 100 incidents were reported.
What follows is just a sampling of what went on:
Palestinian “rock” throwers attacked at Ras Karkar, the Binyamin intersection (baby girl wounded) , Qalandiya (soldier wounded), Rachel’s Tomb, Route 465 near Neve Yair, the “T” intersection in Gush Etzion (Israeli wounded), Jit, the Talpiot promenade in Jerusalem, Oreef, Hebron, Al Fawwar, Neve Tzuf, Mount of Olives, Abu Tur, Silwan, Shu’fat, Governor’s Palace, Issawya, Beit Horon (Route 443), Jericho, Bethany, stuck, Nabi Salah, Ziff House Mashaal, Mount Holly, Hizma, Baglama, Abu Dis, Beit Ummar, A-Ram, the Hussan bypass, Beit Anun, Beit Furik, Silwad, and Pondok.
Palestinian terrorists blocked roads at Migdalim, the Horseshoe intersection, Talmonim, and Tahsin with burning tires and pieces of wood–in order to slow down vehicles so that they could be attacked.
Palestinian terrorists threw Molotov firebombs at Israelis at Adorayim in the Hebron Hills, Qalandiya (IDF soldier wounded), the Pharmacy checkpoint in Hebron, on cars traveling down Highway 6 near Taibe and Qalqilya, and in numerous other places.
A Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab a Border Guard at the Tapuach Junction but was disarmed and captured.
Palestinian terrorists attacked IDF forces with pipe bombs at Sinjil, in “the stick” at Gush Etzion (IDF soldier wounded) and Bethlehem.
Palestinian terrorists tried to infiltrate a Jewish community in the Jordan Valley–but were captured.
Palestinian arsonists struck at Modi’in Illit, Psagot, Mukhtar, and Kiryat Arba–all in attempts to burn down perimeter security fences.
Palestinian terrorists destroyed hundreds of grape vines in the Binyamin region near Sheila.
***The terrorist incident in which the Israeli infant was wounded . . .
. . . will cause you to shake your head in anger. At about 9:00 pm, the car carrying the Israeli family came to the Levona (Frankincense) intersection in the Binyamin area.
Palestinian terrorists immediately attacked with “rocks”, shattering the windows of the car and hitting the children, mother, and father with “rocks.” In the picture at the head of this page, you see the baby being evacuated to Hadassah Hospital with severe cuts and bruises.
In the process of these events, the father called the IDF commander in the area to come to the scene and stop the Palestinian terror assault. The IDF arrived but refused to go after the “rock throwers.” The IDF then left the scene.
The father was then joined by other residents in the area who proceeded toward the terrorists. At this point, the soldiers returned and engaged the Jewish residents–by throwing stun grenades at them and beating them. The battalion commander hit the father with the butt of his gun.

Finally, the Jews were dispersed–and all of the terrorists escaped.
***The riots and terrorism spread to Israel proper . . .
Already, we have seen riots in recent days in Israel-Arab locations such as the northern Galilee, but last night’s full-scale riot in Jaffa was something not seen since the 2nd intifada in 2002.
This morning the Arab merchants of Jaffa are doing all they can to quell the violence for fear that Israeli Jews will stop eating and shopping in the area.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Yesterday, we witnessed the grand spectacle of PM Benjamin Netanyahu, “Defense Minister” Moshe Ya’alon, and IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot touring Judea and Samaria.
At a moment in time when a Jew living in these areas wakes up in the morning and does not know whether he or she will be attacked and killed by nightfall, one would have thought that Netanyahu, Ya’alon, and Eisenkot would have done nothing except express solidarity with these brave Israelis.
You would have thought wrong. Instead they attacked them in a series of outrageous statements.
–Netanyahu immediately equated Jewish community members with Palestinian Muslim terrorists:
“I am not willing to tolerate Israeli citizens joining in the incitement. I cannot tolerate spitting on police or waving PLO and Hamas flags at stadiums – not by Jews and not by Muslims, and I have directed the attorney general to act against the agitators among us.”
Israeli citizens inciting? They are trying to defend themselves in the absence of government protection.
Jews spitting on police? How about Arab women spitting on Adel Bennett–who had a knife in her neck and was bleeding profusely–on Saturday night as she desperately sought their help to protect her children? How about the Muslim women who are paid to spit on Jews who try to visit the holiest place in Judaism?
–Moshe Ya’alon then chimed in:
“We usually stop the Palestinian terror attacks before they occur . . . I recommend that local Jewish council heads stop hyperventilating . . . These statements cause citizens to take the law into their hands. This is an unacceptable phenomenon, which sabotages our struggle against Jewish terror and adds fuel to the fire.”
We “usually” stop? “Usually”, Mr. “Defense Minister” is not good enough.
Our struggle against Jewish terror? Aren’t our security forces supposed to be focused on Palestinian terror? Apparently not.
And what in the world is Ya’alon talking about? No Jew in Judea and Samaria has recently been accused of any terrorism, much less convicted.
Hyperventilating? This is the same sickening comment that we have heard from Ya’alon so often in the past here in the South when thousands of missiles have struck, and it is a comment coming from a “Defense” Minister who was afraid to visit the front lines in the waning days of the war last summer.
–Eisenkot threw in his two cents as well: “The IDF acts in recent days facing the disturbances of a handful of Jews that impede our ability to focus our action against Palestinian terror. I was glad that they rely on the army to provide security and a sense of security for all residents. It is impossible to guarantee 100 percent success in the complex reality in which we operate.”
The focus again is on “a handful of Jews” not Palestinian terror. Take a look again at the list of terror incidents yesterday. 100% success? Jews in eastern Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria would be happy with 10% success.
Netanyahu, Ya’alon, and Eisenkot: a trio of Israeli “leaders” who have lost their way, have their priorities upside down, and bluster and hyperventilate at every opportunity.
