***Palestinian terrorism so far this morning:
At around 4 am this morning, the security guard at the Jewish community of Yitzhar reported to the IDF that a suspicious person was near the security perimeter fence. When the IDF arrived they found an armed Palestinian intruder. She was shot. There is no further info at this hour.
***The daily Palestinian terror report yesterday:
There were more than 40 Palestinian terror attacks yesterday. Some of the worst:
–at 12:45 pm, Israeli Avraham Asher Hasano (50), a resident of Kiryat Arba, was murdered on the road near al-Fawwar southwest of Hebron. He was killed in a vicious hit and run attack that occurred after “rock” throwers forced him out of his car. He was run over by a Palestinian in a truck–who drove back and forth across his body until he was dead (there are actually photographs of this taken by an Arab photographer who just happened to be there). The driver fled the scene and subsequently “turned himself in” to PLO police–who, as of this morning, are refusing to turn him over to Israeli authorities claiming that it was just “an accident.”
Hasano’s funeral late last night was attended by hundreds. A beloved teacher at the Otniel Yeshiva high school, Hasano is survived by 7 children, 9 grandchildren, and his wife Ruth. May his memory be blessed and may he rest in peace.
From morning until evening:
–at 10:55 am, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed an IDF officer near Negohot. The officer suffered wounds to his face. The terrorist was shot to death.
–at 12:30 pm, Palestinian terrorists assaulted an Israeli motorist (Israeli-Arab) near Kiryat Arba. The motorist was seriously wounded. The terrorists escaped.
–at 3:35 pm, a Palestinian terrorist attempted to run over people waiting for a bus at the Gush Etzion Junction; when he failed, he jumped out of his car and stabbed a soldier and a young boy. The victims are in “moderate condition” this morning. The terrorist was shot to death.
-at 5:22 pm, a Border Guard was badly burned by a Molotov thrown at Rachel’s Tomb. He is in “serious” condition.
–at 6:02 pm, Palestinian terrorists attacked IDF personnel at Rachel’s Tomb with pipe bombs.
–at 8:25 pm and again at 8:50 pm, Palestinian terrorists opened fire at an IDF force in the “Horse Triangle” near Mt. Hebron. The terrorists escaped.
–at 9:33 pm, two Palestinian terrorists stabbed a soldier near Hebron. The soldier remains in “moderate condition” this morning. The two terrorists were shot dead.
In addition to all of the above:
–there were violent Palestinian riots: in Kiryat Arba, at the Gaza border fence, at Jaba, Peduel, Abigail, Kfar Etzion, El Fawwar, and Beit Awwa.
–there were Molotov attacks on Naomi Street in Abu Tor, in Benjamin, and at Betar.
–there were “rock” attacks in such places as: Husan, Halhul, Karmi Tzur, the Hussan bypass road, the checkpoint near the Gush Etzion tunnel, Mt Hebron, Migdalim, Beit Hadassah in Hebron, Kiryat Arba, Givat Gal, Azzun, Auja, and Bequaot.
***And if that is not enough, there was more terrorism . . .
Yesterday afternoon, parents of children at a preschool in Nes Ziona (central Israel between Rehovot and Rishon) reported a suspicious object had been placed near the gate to the school.
Shortly thereafter, police determined that it was a bomb, and are investigating it as a “nationalistic terror attack”.
***Remember the two Islamic terror groups operating on the Temple Mount that were supposed to be banned from being there?
The Mouribitat and Mouribitoun were back in force yesterday. They cursed at, spit at, and screamed at Jewish visitors to the Mount.
How did the police respond?
They didn’t.
TODAY’S BLOG:
What a farce took place yesterday on the Gaza border.
PM Netanyahu and so-called “Defense” Minister Moshe Ya’alon paid a visit to the “Gaza Division” of the IDF. It was a visit that they didn’t have the guts to pay during the 51-day war in the South last summer.
It was part of Netanyahu’s “I am in charge, and everything is ok tour” and followed similar trips he made to the northern border and to Judea and Samaria last week.
Here is one of Netanyahu’s blathering comments from yesterday:
“I am under the impression that the situation here is under control. We are currently acting according to a policy which aims to calm the tensions, while acting against the terrorists and forces of terror responsible – in the most proportional and reasonable manner, while only using the necessary amount of force . . . ”
Let’s examine the absurdity of that statement, sentence by sentence.
“I am under the impression that the situation here is under control.”
Ironically, one hour after Netanyahu’s speech, one mile away, another full-scale riot took place at the Gaza border fence. In fact, if you remember, this has been a week in which these riots have taken place everyday, and every time there has been a riot, dozens of Palestinian terrorists have infiltrated into Israel.
What is more, the riots have been used as cover for snipers from Gaza to fire at IDF soldiers and to fire at kibbutzim (such as Nahal Oz) close to the border. In fact, yesterday, as Netanyahu was blathering, the IDF and Israeli police mounted a sniper operation of their own and managed to kill the Gazan who was directing the Palestinian sniper efforts, the field commander of the Iranian supported Shiite military organization, Al-Sabarin.
And what about the missiles that continue to be shot at Israel. Check the column at the right: nearly 100 missiles and mortars have now been fired at southern Israel since last summer’s war–most recently in the late night/early morning before Netanyahu spoke. And the tunnels? Everyone knows that Hamas is busy tunneling into Israel again–probably under the very spot where Netanyahu was speaking.
“We are currently acting according to a policy which aims to calm the tensions, while acting against the terrorists and forces of terror responsible – in the most proportional and reasonable manner, while only using the necessary amount of force . . . ”
There is not much to say about this disgusting statement except that Netanyahu has now adopted the so-called “humanitarian” principle of “proportionality”–a tragic mistake for Israel and Israelis. Nothing is more paramount in Netanyahu’s mind than being politically correct. We can see it in every action that he takes from the Temple Mount to eastern Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria.
Then it was completely flatulent Ya’alon’s turn–and he gave a little speech remarkably reminiscent of former IDF Chief Benny Gantz’s ” flowering anemones” speech last year, a speech that cost the lives of a number of Israelis who returned to their homes only to be killed by mortar fire.
“There have been several attempts to violate Israel’s sovereignty along the Gaza border. In recent days, our forces have taken control of the issue, and as we can see, the front is quiet. You can see our communities are blossoming and growing . . .”
As your humble servant has pointed out, the Gaza front is far from quiet. In fact, the communities are so unquiet that the IDF is about to spend tens of millions of shekels to encircle them with smart fences in an effort to stop terrorist infiltration.
Delusional, self-serving, blind to the situation–can you think of a better way to describe Israeli PM Netanyahu–and his minion Ya’alon?
