6:00 pm UPDATES

5:44 pm: Horrific Palestinian Molotov attack on Route 60 at Givat Assaf near Beit El. Terrorists hit car driven by father with wife and 3 children inside. Most badly wounded is 4 year old girl who was in a child seat in the back seat. She is described as being in “fair condition” despite having 35% of her upper body burned.

Where the little girl was burned a few minutes ago.

Where the little girl was sitting when she was set on fire a few minutes ago.

Isn’t it unbelievable that a 4-year-old child who is that severely burned can ridiculously be described as being in “fair” condition?

The mother, father, and other girls were also burned–primarily in their arms and hands as they struggled to get daughter/sister out of the seat.

4:00 pm UPDATES

4:00 pm: Heavy clashes between the IDF and Gazan terrorists are reported in 5 places along the Gaza Border.

3:06 pm: The female soldier gravely stabbed in the attack yesterday at Kikar Adam, Dikla Megedish, is reported to have awakened in the hospital and has talked to her family.

2:22 pm: Stabbing attack averted at Damascus Gate when Border Police spot suspicious 14-year-old with backpack. Upon checking, the police found knives in his backpack that were to be used by himself and two friends in a stabbing attack.

10:17 am: Stabbing attack averted. Hours after the ridiculous police decision to open the new security checkpoints around the Jebal Mukaber neighborhood, a resident of that neighborhood was caught preparing for an attack with a knife.

8:00 am UPDATES

Special Request:

If you don’t do anything else today, take a moment right now and pray for the recovery of Daniel Ben Revital, one of the critically wounded in the Beersheva attack. His situation has seriously deteriorated during the night.

***Palestinian terrorism so far today:

At 7:47 am, thirteen minutes ago, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed an IDF soldier in the back in Gush Etzion. The soldier is in “moderate” condition. The terrorist was shot and wounded, but unfortunately not killed.

At 12:04 am, Palestinian terrorists detonated a roadside bomb targeting our troops in the Mt. Hebron area. Miraculously no soldiers were wounded, but the terrorists escaped.

***Palestinian terrorism yesterday:

The worst of the worst:

At 7:57 pm, two Palestinian terrorists wearing Hamas shirts, stabbed a yeshiva student as he exited a synagogue in Beit Shemesh and started to board a bus. They then attempted to board the bus themselves–a bus full of children. Passengers on the bus pushed them back onto the sidewalk, where they were shot by security personnel.

At 12:51 pm, a Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab a soldier at the Hassam Shoter checkpoint in Tel Rumeida in Hebron. The soldier fired in the air–the terrorist escaped.

In addition:

Israeli soldiers and citizens were assaulted more than 50 other times yesterday. Just a few examples . . .

Palestinian terrorists threw “rocks” and Molotovs at Route 443, Kiryat Arba, Hawara, Hebron, Gush Etzion, Shavei Shomron, El Fawwar, Ma’ale Shomron, and Hamivtar.

Palestinians attacked during riots at Burin, Hizma, Migdalim, the Gaza border fence, Bethany, Sair, Beit Anun, Surif, A-Ram, Orif, and Hebron. Some of these riots went on all day.

***A remarkable feature of the recent Israeli political and media landscape . .

. . . has been the way that the “left” has continued to attack the government at a time when Israelis need to be more unified than ever in the face of unremitting Palestinian violence.

Watching television at night, one would think that we are still in the middle of an election campaign. Every government statement is immediately contradicted by the likes of Herzog, Livni, and Lapid. Every government action is immediately attacked by Israel Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein and Comptroller General Joseph Shapira. Every pundit gushes that the Netanyahu government is on the verge of collapse.

It is an appalling display of crass partisanship.

Not surprisingly, the V15 movement came out of the shadows yesterday. You may remember that V15 was part of the unsuccessful attempt by the Obama Administration to bring down Netanyahu in the most recent election.

These can include walking, cross, going canadian pharmacy levitra swimming, yoga exercise and a lot more. Though lots of treating options are available, but all of them need canada sildenafil to be part of your weekly hypothyroidism diet. If you want to have a dose viagra canadian of Kamagra Oral Jelly to which the sexual arousal rises. Chiropractors can strictly follow the traditional chiropractic where only the spinal column is adjusted while others also treat the actual body part that is sildenafil online no prescription experiencing pain.

A Facebook post by V15 leader Yuval Morgenstern declared that the name of V15 is now being changed to either V16 ( 2016 is when the “left” hopes that the current government will fall) or V19 (2019 is when the next elections are actually slated).

***In fact, the parade of faulty prognostication has been hilarious to see . . .

. . . since the current government’s formation on May 6th of this year. First, the left was predicting the Netanyahu government would not last a week, then it was a month, then three months, then six months; now Herzog and friends are predicting it will not last through mid-2016.

***Speaking of the “left” and Yehuda Weinstein . . .

. . . they were at it again yesterday. As predicted here on israelstreet last week, the demolitions of the homes of terrorists ground to a halt yesterday as the Israel Supreme Court with Weinstein’s support issued temporary injunctions so that that the demolition orders could be reviewed.

Of course this is part of Benjamin Netanyahu’s modus operandi. He issues orders that he knows will be countermanded, at least temporarily, by Weinstein and the Supreme Court.

***Speaking of Benjamin Netanyahu’s modus operandi . . .

. . . consider his decision yesterday concerning Itamar.  Following a month-long protest in front of his residence in Jerusalem, Netanyahu supposedly relented and agreed to an urban development plan for Itamar, a Jewish community in Samaria.

His decision apparently approves buildings that have already been built in the community and gives building permits for the construction of schools and health clinics.

But, before you get too excited, remember that Netanyahu’s apparent “decision” is meaningless.

His modus operandi is to approve, and then freeze. Then he approves again, and then freezes again. Nothing ever changes.  This pattern has been repeated throughout Judea and Samaria for years.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The British have struck again. First, we had renowned, pusillanimous, astronomer Stephen Hawking pitifully announcing that he had given into BDS pressure and was supporting a cultural boycott against Israel and would not travel here.

Today we have JK Rowling of Harry Potter fame and 149 other British artists.

But what a difference!

Rowling and friends had a remarkable letter published yesterday in the London newspaper, The Guardian. Here it is in its entirety:

In February 2015 you published a letter from UK artists announcing their intention to culturally boycott Israel.

We do not believe cultural boycotts are acceptable or that the letter you published accurately represents opinion in the cultural world in the UK.

Therefore we are writing to declare our support for the launch and aims of Culture for Coexistence – an independent UK network representing a cross-section from the cultural world.

We will be seeking to inform and encourage dialogue about Israel and the Palestinians in the wider cultural and creative community. While we may not all share the same views on the policies of the Israeli government, we all share a desire for peaceful coexistence.

Cultural boycotts singling out Israel are divisive and discriminatory, and will not further peace. Open dialogue and interaction promote greater understanding and mutual acceptance, and it is through such understanding and acceptance that movement can be made towards a resolution of the conflict.

Ultimately we all believe in a two-state solution so that the national self-determination of both peoples is realised, with the state of Israel and a Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security.

Cultural engagement builds bridges, nurtures freedom and positive movement for change. We wholly endorse encouraging such a powerful tool for change rather than boycotting its use.

Your humble servant believes that you, dear reader, knows that he thinks that “peaceful coexistence”, “understanding and acceptance”, “a resolution of the conflict”, “a two-state solution” (except for the Palestinian states that already exist in Gaza and Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria) . . . are all a bunch of hooey.

But having said that, it is positively refreshing, and unexpected, to have such a powerful statement against cultural boycotts in general and BDS in particular.

Bravo to these 150 British artists for having the courage to take a stand for which they know they will be pilloried by BDS and everyone else on the “left.”

They have displayed a moral fiber desperately lacking in today’s world.
