8:00 pm UPDATES

7:16 pm: The Israeli man wounded in the bulldozer attack this afternoon was a Border Policeman. He suffered severe head trauma and is “in a critical life-threatening situation.” He needs your prayers.

6:56 pm: A group of Border Guards was attacked by Palestinian terrorists throwing IEDs at the Al-Aida Palestinian settlement near Bethlehem.

4:00 pm UPDATES

3:59 pm: Bulldozer attack at Halhoun near Hebron. Two Israelis wounded by Palestinian terrorist who ran over them, one of them a man in his 20s has been sedated and is on a respirator. The other Israeli is in “moderate condition”. The terrorist was shot and killed.

3:14 pm: The Jerusalem Police have idiotically announced that checkpoints that have been placed at White Angel St in Abu Tor in the direction of Silwan, in Jabal Mukaber, and at Governor’s House are all being removed. Terrorists will now be able to go freely from one neighborhood to another.

2:39 pm: Sheikh Khalid al-Mughrabi, the primary imam at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, has been “detained” and charged with incitement.

12:57 pm: It has been announced that a resident of Gaza who lives in Israel has been arrested for transporting tons of “construction materials” to Hamas.

8:00 am UPDATES

***Palestinian terror attacks yesterday:

It was another day of attempted stabbings, Molotov attacks, shootings, and riots. The three most egregious:

–at 9:30 pm last night, Palestinian terrorists threw IEDs at IDF soldiers guarding Rachel’s Tomb near Bethlehem. Fortunately, no Israelis were wounded from the explosions with their accompanying shrapnel and fires. This was the sixth consecutive day of such attacks.

–at 5:19 pm yesterday afternoon, Palestinian terrorists opened fire on an IDF checkpoint near Beit El. Again, no Israelis were wounded, and again the terrorists escaped.

–at 10:30 am yesterday morning, a Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife was captured near Gilboa (Jalama) Junction just as he began to rush a group of IDF Bedouin soldiers. Neither the soldiers nor the terrorist were wounded.

During every hour of the day yesterday, Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks”. Here’s a sample of between 12 pm and 7 pm.

Between 12 pm-1 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks” on Highway 6.

Between 1 pm-2 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks” at Tulkarm, Shuafat, and Ras al-Amud.

Between 2 pm-3 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks”at Beit El and in Hebron.

Between 3 pm-4 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks” at al-Fawwar.

Between 4 pm-5 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks” at the Hussan bypass road in Gush Etzion and in Bethlehem.

Between 5 pm-6 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks” at the Gaza border fence and at Bethel.

Between 6 pm-7 pm: Palestinian terrorists attacked with “rocks” at Issawiya.

Were Israelis physically wounded in these attacks? Of course they were.

Were Israelis traumatized in these attacks? Of course they were.

Has anyone in the world condemned the Palestinians for any of the above attacks? Of course not.

***The laugh of the morning (black humor) . . .

The Israel-Arab vendors along the sea promenade in the old city of Akko have appealed this morning to the mayor of the city to lower their property tax rates because they have no business.

Why do they have no business? Because Jewish Israelis are afraid to go there after the Arab riots in Akko last month, riots that included setting fire to a courtyard in front of a synagogue.

It just so happens that your humble servant was in Akko yesterday, and there were no tourists. It so happens that one member of our party was a male orthodox Jew who was wearing tzitzit (the shirt with the religious fringes on each corner).

Wherever we walked, the Arab vendors pointed at him and said “Jew, Jew.”

We pointed back and said “Arab, Arab”. They were distinctly unappreciative.

Needless to say, we did not shop in any of their stores nor did we linger in the area.

(Your humble servant will discuss Tzfat tomorrow unless events intervene).

***Can anyone explain what is going on in Syria?

The situation is in such flux that it is almost impossible to discern what is real, what is propaganda, and what is just plain nonsense. A few interesting details from yesterday:

*The Iranians are now afflicted with what is being called “the curse of Suleimani.” Virtually every close confidant of the General Suleimani who has been sent to Syria has been killed.

*The Iranians doubled down yesterday. General Suleimani announced that the Grand Poobah of Tehran, Ali Khamenei, has ordered him to take Aleppo at any cost–even if it means more than 100,000 Iranian dead.

*The Russians have nearly doubled the number of their sorties targeting IS and anyone else who opposes Assad. They too are beginning to lose soldiers on the ground. And what about the Russian plane that crashed in the Sinai the other day that IS claims that it brought down? The latest news–based on the condition of the passenger bodies–is that it crashed because of an internal explosion such as a bomb.

*Despite the four pronged attack (Syrian forces, Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hezbollah militants, and Russian jets) being waged against them, the “rebels” have reportedly gained ground in the last week.

***The hilarious farce at Ben Gurion airport yesterday . . .

In the mid-afternoon, a Royal Jordanian aircraft on its way from Dubai to Amman was forced to make an emergency landing at Ben Gurion due to low fuel. The low fuel situation was caused by the fact that it was unable to land in Amman because of another dust storm that is currently hitting the Middle East (your humble servant sees nothing but a yellow haze out his window this morning).

However, the farce began when the Jordanians at first claimed that it was not twinkies, its airplane, but an Egyptian one that had landed in Israel. And then the Egyptians claimed it was not an Egyptian plane, but a Greek one that had come from Crete.

By nightfall, the Jordanians were forced to admit it was their plane after all because the following picture surfaced on the internet:

Israeli airport workers at the steps leading down from the Jordanian plane yesterday.

What were the workers holding in their hands to hand out as a snack to the poor folks from Dubai? Krembos–the Israeli version of Twinkies.

***The hilarious farce on Israel television last night . . .

Channel 10, the most left-wing Israeli TV channel of all the left-wing Israeli TV channels, began a series engineered by Raviv Drucker, the reporter who waged war against the Netanyahus during the last election campaign.

The series purports to show “what really happened” during the Barak-Arafat “negotiations in 2000 and the Olmert-Abbas “negotiations” in 2007.

It’s main point is to revise history by interviewing a number of people (especially Saeb Erekat) who claim that Arafat and then Abbas were humiliated , and therefore the blame for the failure of the negotiations does not rest only on their shoulders.

What a sad joke.

TODAY’S BLOG:

In fact, the Israeli ‘left” has become nothing more than a bad joke. Claiming to support Israel, they continue running after Sarah Netanyahu and her recycled bottles, doing all they can to bring down the Netanyahu government, and undermining Israel at every turn.

An integral part of the Israeli “left” are the abominable NGOs that pervade the Israeli landscape. From the New Israel Fund that apparently supports any group that seeks to delegitimize Israel to Breaking the Silence which sends (for pay) disgruntled IDF soldiers around the world to “talk about how bad the IDF really is”, the leftist NGOs are an active force against Israel.

One of the worst of these NGOs is B’Tselem–which we have covered extensively here on israelstreet. As a sign of just how low they now go, take a look at something that appeared on their Facebook page yesterday:

pic2

Lest you think this was an anomaly, it appeared along with numerous other anti-Semitic posts comparing Jews to all forms of vermin and to Satanists.

Dear reader, this is what we are up against. Supposedly “pro-Israel” organizations that only care about destroying Israel.  In particular, remember B’Tselem and these organizations that fund it (taken from the B’Tselem website):

“In addition to the hundreds of individual donors in Israel and abroad, B’Tselem thanks the following for their generous support”:

  • Bread for the World
  • Catholic Relief Services
  • Christian Aid Ireland
  • Church of Scotland
  • Common Services Corporation of the United Church of Christ
  • Consulat Général de France
  • Dan Church Aid
  • Diakonia
  • European Commission
  • Firedoll
  • Fondation Pro Victimis
  • Foundation for Middle East Peace
  • Open Society Foundations
  • Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law Secretariat
  • Moriah Foundation
  • Naomi and Nehemia Cohen Foundation
  • New Israel Fund
  • Oxfam GB
  • Royal Norwegian Embassy
  • Sam and Bella Sebba Charitable Trust
  • Sigrid Rausing Trust
  • SIVMO
  • Stichting Niks Voor Niks
  • Trocaire
  • UNICEF
  • Zivik programme of the German Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations”

From B’Tselem to Zivik, this is a list of shame.
