***Palestinian terrorism yesterday:
At 2:39 pm, it was reported that an Israeli soldier had been shot and killed “in central Israel” and that the funeral would be at 4 pm. According to the report, military police were involved in investigating the circumstances. As of this morning, no other information has been forthcoming, as Israel’s military censor appears to have clamped a lid on the case.
There were two attempted stabbing attacks yesterday: at Rachel’s Tomb near Bethlehem (2:41 pm), and the Oak Junction near Kfar Adumim (3:22 pm). No Israelis were wounded in either attack, and the terrorists escaped in both.
Palestinian terrorists threw Molotov firebombs at IDF soldiers in Qalqilya (8:00 pm), at an Israeli family in a car at Husan (8:05 pm), at another family in Beit Hanina (2:10 pm), and at IDF soldiers in Abu Dis (1:22 pm).
Palestinian terrorists set fires in the vineyards of the Har Bracha community in Samaria at 11:03 am, and then came back late last night (10:10 pm) and opened fire at the same community.
If you are a regular reader of israelstreet, you can guess what happened at these locations: the Jerusalem Light Rail (Shuafat), al-Sharqiya, Gush Etzion, Qalqilya, Mt. Hebron, Hebron, Halhul, Bethel, Silwad, Psagot, Kiryat Arba, Rachel’s Tomb, Al-Kida, Beit Hagai, Hizma, Mt. of Olives, Abu Dis, Silwan, Tura, Al-Gharbia, entrance to Ramallah, Benjamin, Jania, Mt. Scopus, Pisgat Ze’ev, Beitillu, Beit Ummar, Tarqimiya, Anata, Eli, Aotzrin, Beit Anun, Beit Haggai, Jalazun, Beit Romano (Hebron), and Road 160.
If you guessed Palestinian “rock” attacks, you guessed correctly. What was somewhat unusual about yesterday was the number of Israelis wounded by “rocks”–at almost every location above, people had to be treated by MADA or taken to hospitals.
***Two videos that you should watch . . .
1. Click on this link to watch the absurdity that goes on in Judea and Samaria everyday. As you watch this, note how the entire event was staged by the self-described “media/press”: one photographer has a tripod set up, other photographers are spaced out along the route the terrorist runs, and there just happens to be a Red Crescent ambulance on hand.
2. Click on this link to watch a video produced by the Israeli Magavnikim (Border Guards)–taunting Hamas. The video is in Hebrew, but you don’t need to understand Hebrew to get the point.
***The price for killing Israelis (aka “Jews”) . . .
It was revealed last night that Hamas has set prices for dead Israelis.
A person who kills an IDF soldier will receive 25,000 shekels. A person who kills an Israeli civilian will receive 14,000 shekels.
In both cases, if the murderer is killed in the attack, his or her family will receive the money.
***Israeli undercover Dudevan seize a terrorist from al-Ahli Hebron hospital (aka “Jihad Hospital”) yesterday . . .
Israel was abuzz yesterday with the video of one of our undercover units raiding the hospital to extract a terrorist who was being treated there.
Click here to see video (note that you will see the events twice, the video repeats itself).
The terrorist was Azam Shaladeh who had brutally stabbed an Israeli near Meizad on October 25–but was in turn shot by the Israeli. The Israelis entered the hospital dressed like Arabs (one as a pregnant Arab woman), went to Shaladeh’s room, shot and killed Shaladeh’s cousin who attacked them, and then hustled Shaladeh out of the room and the hospital.
The most hilarious comment of the day came from Jihad Shawar, the hospital director, who accused Israel of violating the sanctity of the hospital. Shawar added that Shaladeh was in the hospital being treated by for wounds he received while helping his family harvest olives in the family orchard.
***Remember Taz–the Labrador Retriever who saved the lives of an IDF patrol last month by smelling a roadside bomb?
He has been at it again this week.
On Tuesday, Taz led his IDF patrol to a house in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem. There, he sniffed out pipe bombs, rifles, and ammunition. In the rear of the house, he uncovered more weapons and IEDs.
Israelstreet salutes the brave Taz and thanks him for helping save our brave soldiers!
***What exactly happened in a Hezbollah suburb of Beirut last night is only now becoming clear . . .
It appears that three suicide bombers drove motorcycles into the Borj al-Barajneh neighborhood in which the Hezbollah general command was holding a meeting. Once there they detonated a motorbike, and then when spectators gathered another bomber detonated. The series of explosions killed at least 50 people and wounded hundreds more.
The Lebanese media has identified the bombers as “two Palestinians and a Syrian”–and has published their names. Apparently they were acting on behalf of IS/DAAS, and apparently three Hezbollah commanders as well as one of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s bodyguards bit the dust.
The last piece of information about the bodyguard obviously makes one wonder if the target of the attack was Nasrallah himself. One also has to wonder what Nasrallah and his minions will say about being attacked by their beloved Palestinans?
TODAY’S BLOG:
Your humble servant has been heartwarmed by the response to yesterday’s blog about the European boykott of Israel.
Numerous people have contacted your humble servant from around the globe to find out how they can buy products from the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. In the coming days, israelstreet will encourage you to join the “Buy Blue and White” movement by providing the addresses from which you can buy products directly from Jewish community businesses.
In the meantime, here are some brief updates as to where things stand today:
1. The Obama-Kerry State Department has given its approval to the boykott. Spokesperson Mark Toner has had this to say:
“Israel continues to expand settlement activity. It should not come as a surprise that some in the international community seek to limit commercial ties to the settlements. It’s not a boycott per se, but it could be taken as a boycott.”
Outrageous mumbo-jumbo.
2. Late Wednesday, the Knesset approved a preliminary reading of a bill proposed by Jewish Home (Beit Yehudi) which would deny a visa to Israel to anyone calling for a boykott of this country.
In doing so, the sponsors of the bill explained the obvious:
“In recent years, there have been increasing calls for a boycott of Israel. It seems that this is a new front in the war against Israel, which so far has not been responded to properly. This bill is intended to prevent individuals or representatives of companies, associations or organizations calling for a boycott Israel to act within the territory of the State of Israel to promote their ideas.”
Will this bill go anywhere? Probably not. Many of those “useful Jews” who signed the petition supporting the European boykott are members of the Herzog-Livni party and Meretz.
But we can always hope that the law will be enacted.
3. The “Buy Blue and White” (“buy products made in Israel” movement is gathering speed. Check out this video today–again in Hebrew, but all of the people say the same thing: “Ani kone rach kachol levan” . . . “I only buy “Blue and White.
And so should you!
