UPDATES 9:00 AM
***The Palestinian attack at Psagot (beside Ramallah and Kochav Yaakov) last night . . .
As was reported in our 8 pm update last night, there was a Palestinian bulldozer attack yesterday evening. A Palestinian terrorist in a car attempted to kill an Israeli family by ramming his car into their car. Two Israelis in the car were wounded seriously, the other two moderately. The terrorist died in the crash.
Not surprisingly, the police initially dissembled that “it wasn’t really a terrorist attack; it was just an accident.”
That official line lasted for about an hour until it was discovered that the terrorist had tried to drive into Psagot but was stopped by the security guard there. Judging from the machete found in his car after the crash, his goal was to stab and chop Israelis to death.
In addition, police also found a note in his car about how he wanted to kill “Jews”.
Some accident.
***Another case of the police attempting to disguise Palestinian terror . . .
You may remember, dear reader, that israelstreet reported that there was a stabbing in Eilat last month (October 29). Almost immediately thereafter, the terrorist was captured, but because the Israeli victim was of Ethiopian background the police attempted to say that “it wasn’t really a terrorist attack; it was a racial attack.”
Shin Bet revealed yesterday that it was indeed a terrorist attack. The terrorist, an Arab from Umm al-Fahm confessed that he had watched numerous video clips of stabbings before he decided to go out and stab an Israeli to death.
***Other Palestinian terror yesterday . . .
Some of the worst: Palestinian terrorists set a security vehicle in Ir David on fire with Molotovs (8:57 pm)–fortunately the driver was able to escape; Palestinian terrorists firebombed an IDF observation post near Nabi Saleh (7:27 pm); Palestinian terrorists attacked man as he was walking through a Jewish neighborhood of Hebron (7:22 pm)–he had to be hospitalized; a Border Guard was seriously wounded in the head by a “rock” thrown by Arabs in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City (10:17 am)–he remains in Sha’are Zedek Hospital this morning.
In addition to the above, there were more than 30 other terror attacks involving “rock” attacks against civilians and security personnel, and large-scale riots near Mt. Hebron, Beit Haggai, Halhul, Kiryat Arba, Shuafat, and the entrance to Ramallah.
One Palestinian terrorist in Gaza was killed when the rocket he was shooting at southern Israel fortunately blew up in his face.
***Rabbi Jacob Litman and his son Natanel who were murdered by Palestinian terrorists on Friday afternoon were buried late last night in Jerusalem . . .
More than a thousand people attended the funeral, including President Rivlin who was denounced at the funeral for his lack of support for Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

***European boykott update . . . who is getting hurt?
According to figures released yesterday, there are now 890 businesses operating in Judea and Samaria compared 680 four years ago.
These businesses employ 24,000 workers.
63% of those workers (15,300) are Palestinians–a 25% increase since 2011.
***Were the Paris attacks “random” after all?
Perhaps not. The Bataclan Theater/Concert Hall where most of the people were killed has long been known as a “Jewish theater” because it was owned by two French Jews. Note the use of the past tense “was”. Two months ago, the theater was sold and its owners made aliya to Israel.
Over the last last decade and more, the Bataclan has often been the target of Islamist attacks.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Your humble servant has been ruminating about the events in Paris.
Aren’t we long past the time when we should stop being politically correct? Aren’t we long past the time when we must recognize the Muslim threat? Aren’t we long past the time when we must stop calling Islam “a religion of peace”? Aren’t we long past the time when we must stop being passive in the face of evil?
Last night in Israel, a crowd of several thousand gathered in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square for a vigil to show solidarity with the French. Tonight a portion of the Old City wall in Jerusalem will be lit in the colors of the French flag.
Vigils and actions like these are sensitive and sweet, but do they address or exacerbate the problem?
Several months ago, an anti-Semitic incident occurred in your humble servant’s home city in California. A couple of days later, Jewish students held a vigil at the local Hillel and lamented that there is not “coexistence” on campus. At the same time that the vigil was being held, the Students for Justice in Palestine were holding a demonstration on campus declaring their hatred of Zionists and the “occupation of Palestine.”
The problem is that people in the Israeli left, self-proclaimed” progressives around the world, and Jewish students on university campuses just don’t get it.
They don’t understand that the Muslim invasion of the West is a direct threat to our way of life. They don’t understand we must aggressively fight back and not merely hold candlelight vigils at which we hold hands and sing kumbaya. They don’t understand that extreme Islam is coming to their community, if it is not already there.
Try to wrap your brain around the following.
Last week, israelstreet posted a video of a Palestinian woman attacking and stabbing a security guard at the entrance to Beitar Illit. Fortunately, the security guard was lightly wounded, and the terrorist was killed.
As a result of the attack, the mayor (Meir Rubinstein), “city council”, and citizens of Beitar Illit did not hold a vigil. They decided that no more Palestinian workers would be permitted into the city. It was a perfectly logical and reasonable action to take in light of the terrorism that the community faces on a daily basis.
If you can believe this, the Reform Jewish Movement immediately sent the mayor a threatening letter decrying the city’s decision and declaring that it “violates Palestinian rights.” More than this, the Reform Jews accused Beitar Illit of “contradicting the principles of equality and the Basic Law on Human Dignity and Liberty.”
It was a letter expressing just the kind of ideas that have gotten the West into the morass that it now finds itself. Of course, we all believe in human dignity and the principles of equality, but the first imperative is to protect human life–and to aggressively protect it against an implacable and evil foe.
Needless to say, Mayor Rubinstein wrote a stinging letter back which read in part:
“It seems that just as the Reform movement does not recognize the importance of keeping Judaism alive, it also does not recognize the importance of protecting the value of life. The Torah commands us ‘Guard yourself and guard your soul very carefully (Deuteronomy 4: 9-10), and we keep this commandment with all our strength . . . Your letter on behalf of our enemies, seems to fit perfectly the spirit of the Reform movement.”
While your humble servant does not agree completely with the mayor’s assessment of the Reform Jewish movement (there are many individuals in the Reform Movement that are ardent supporters of Israel), his basic point is well-taken.
We are in a fight for our lives, and we must take actions to defend ourselves.
Holding candlelight vigils and singing kumbaya are meant to be expressions of solidarity, but more often than not, they quickly fade into nothing and hasten our destruction.
