Multiple shooting attacks, an attempted stabbing, more than 40 “rock” and Molotov attacks on Israeli children, women, and men: such was Wednesday in Israel.

The shootings attacks began at 9:16 in the morning in the Jebal Mukaber neighborhood of Jerusalem when the same police that removed checkpoints from the neighborhood two weeks ago came under fire from Arab terrorists. By nightfall, shootings had moved to the roads of Judea and Samaria with attacks on an Israeli car on Route 90 (8:26 pm), and another one ten minutes later on Route 60 near Rahelim. Miraculously, no Israelis were physically wounded in the attacks.

The attempted stabbing was again in Hebron where a Palestinian terrorist was spotted by alert Border Guards near the Cave of the Patriarchs. The terrorist was disarmed and captured; no Israelis were wounded.

Where did Palestinian terrorists attack with “rocks” and Molotovs? A better question is where didn’t they . . . Here were a few of the locations:  Government House in Jerusalem, Shuafat, Halhul, Route 436 at Nebi Samuel, near Kalandia,  Husan, Issawiya, Abu Dis, near Beit El, Kiryat Arba, Silwan, Rachel’s Tomb, Al Bireh near Ramallah, Tura al Gharbiya,  Turmusayya, Abu Tor, Dolev, Fawwar, Rantisi, Hizma, Beitin, Anata, Abu Tor, near Beitar Ilit,  and Mount Scopus.

***About the roads in Judea and Samaria . . .

In the aftermath of the murders of Rabbi Litman and his son Natanel six days ago, civilians and private security personnel have begun patrolling the roads in the vicinity of Kiryat Arba–in particular Route 60.

Yesterday morning, if you can believe this, the IDF Brigade Commander warned that any Jew seen patrolling the roads in self-defense would have his weapons confiscated on the spot. 

Yesterday evening , an interview appeared with a member of the Kiryat Arba Community Council in which he talked about the daily shooting attacks on his community as well as the daily attempts by terrorists to burn down the community security fence. He added this:

“We feel like sitting ducks . . . The IDF treats us worse than the terrorists . . . The Palestinians engage in massive illegal construction, yet the IDF destroys our David Hazon synagogue . . . Why doesn’t the IDF close Route 60 to Arab traffic? . . . The IDF Brigade Commander says that we have to learn to live with the Arabs . . . We have to abide by every law, whereas the Palestinians abide by none.”

Truth if ever spoken . . .

***Speaking of the absurdity of “learning to live with Arabs” . . .

The Israel Navy announced yesterday that it is returning 30 boats confiscated from Gazan “fishermen”. The boats were confiscated when the “fishermen” exceeded the six mile fishing limit.

The reason we put fishermen in ” . . .” is because many of the fishermen are actually smugglers who are transporting contraband (read “weapons”) from Egypt to Gaza.

But guess what? The Navy also announced that because some of the boats were in poor condition, Israeli taxpayer money has been spent refurbishing them and making them seaworthy.

An Israeli Naval Officer commented that Israeli policy has changed after last year’s war with Hamas: “We’re [Israel and Hamas] all in this together.”

Pardon your humble servant for a moment as he throws up.

***But wait . . . there is more reason for regurgitation . . .

Remember that little thing known as the “Democratic Iranian Nuclear Weapon Appeasement Agreement”? According to the appeasement, Iran was supposed to dismantle its nuclear facilities and reduce its uranium reserves.

Well, guess what? According to a confidential report of the International Atomic Energy Agency that was leaked yesterday, Iran has spent the last three months dramatically increasing its uranium reserves.

Was there any outcry in the P5+1 countries about this yesterday? Of course not–not a syllable was heard. Everyone has now moved on to other issues of the day–everyone except Israel that is. After all, Tehran is still threatening to wipe us off the map.

Two comments yesterday struck your humble servant as so over the top that we cannot decide this morning which one is the more egregious. They both were spoken by malevolent politicians who have gone out of their way to castigate Israel at every turn, and each was terrible in its own way.

First, let’s consider what the E.U. Ambassador to Israel, Lars Faborg Andersen had to say at a diplomatic conference in Jerusalem yesterday. As you read his comments, keep in mind that it is Faborg Andersen who has been the leading proponent of a boykott against Israel–a boykott that he finally persuaded the EU to enact last week.

“I’ve been shocked to hear claims of anti-Semitism and historical comparisons or analogies to the persecution of Jews in Germany in the ’30s and ’40s. In my mind this is a distortion of history and belittlement of the crimes of the Nazis, and the memory of their victims.

The European Union has been accused of a variety of sins, including today from this podium: anti-Semitism, hypocrisy, immorality, rewarding terrorism, destroying Palestinian jobs.

Talk of a European boycott just does not stand up to a reality check. Let me say loud and clear: Europe is not boycotting Israel, and Europe is not boycotting settlements.”  

Does Faborg Andersen think that Jews in Israel are devoid of memory or are simply utter fools?

Of course, the E.U. labeling project is anti-Semitic. It targets Jews to the exclusion of everyone else. Of course, it is analogous to the persecution of Jews in the 30s and 40s; the first step toward the Holocaust was a boykott of Jewish goods. 

In my mind this is a distortion of history and belittlement of the crimes of the Nazis, and the memory of their victims.

Can you imagine the startling presumption of Faborg Andersen to tell Israelis that we are belittling the crimes of the Nazis and the memories of their victims? Our relatives were their victims.

Every single accusation is true. Obviously so.

Let’s get this straight one more time. The E.U. is now putting label on products from eastern Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Golan Heights. The purpose of that label is to show E.U. consumers where the product is coming from. The purpose of showing where the product is coming from is to stop E.U. consumers from buying those products. This is a boykott, pure and simple. 

The anti-Semitism of Europe is perhaps the most malevolent anti-Semitism of all because it patronizingly cloaks itself in “good words and deeds” and “humanitarianism.” To believe Faborg Andersen, the only reason to label Jewish products is to support the Jewish state of Israel.

Moving on to comment number 2:

John Kerry was answering reporters questions yesterday about the Paris attacks when he said this: 

“There’s something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that. There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of — not a legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, okay, they’re really angry because of this and that. This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate. It wasn’t to aggrieve one particular sense of wrong. It was to terrorize people. It was to attack everything that we do stand for. That’s not an exaggeration.

It was to assault all sense of nationhood and nation-state and rule of law and decency, dignity, and just put fear into the community and say, ‘Here we are.’ And for what? What’s the platform? What’s the grievance? That we’re not who they are? They kill people because of who they are and they kill people because of what they believe. And it’s indiscriminate. They kill Shia. They kill Yezidis. They kill Christians. They kill Druze. They kill Ismaili. They kill anybody who isn’t them and doesn’t pledge to be that. And they carry with them the greatest public display of misogyny that I’ve ever seen, not to mention a false claim regarding Islam. It has nothing to do with Islam; it has everything to do with criminality, with terror, with abuse, with psychopathism . . .”

The only person who is psycho-“pathetic” is John Kerry.

The problem is that for Kerry and President Obama, the attack on Charlie Hebdo was “legitimate” . . . just like they initially (and fraudulently) explained that the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi took place because local Muslims were angry about a video. Kerry and Obama have no problem “attaching themselves to a rationale” that excuses Muslim violence because Muslims are “really angry about this and that.”

But to believe Kerry, Charlie Hebdo–an obvious attack on law, decency, dignity, and freedom of speech– was not.

It absolutely was not. It was completely discriminate. Non-Muslims were targeted, focusing on a Jewish owned (or believed to be Jewish-owned) concert hall and restaurant.

“And for what? What’s the platform? What’s the grievance? That we’re not who they are?”

Isn’t it amazing that after all this time, Kerry and Obama still don’t get it. They cannot grasp the fact that Islamic State wants an Islamic Caliphate to rule the region and the world. Every infidel who stands in their way is their grievance. Of course, they want everyone to be like they are.

As usual, Kerry has no idea what he is talking about. It has everything to do with Islam. Other than murdering “infidels”, every member of IS does little except spout scriptures from the Koran and declare that he wants to return to the same living situation as at the time of Mohammed.
