UPDATE 4:00 PM
2:45 pm: Palestinian terror attack. Armored bus carrying 50 soldiers forced off road by Palestinian terrorist. One soldier trapped under the bus was killed, 4 soldiers were seriously wounded, and the other 45 were lightly wounded. The event was initially called an accident, until those involved described what happened.
- UPDATE 11:00 AM
10:24 am: Palestinian stabbing attack thwarted. Terrorist emerges from a Palestinian taxi at the Tapuach Junction and rushes toward Border Guards. No Israelis wounded. Terrorist shot and killed. Why doesn’t anyone stop all Palestinian cars from entering the Tapuach Junction?
UPDATES 8:00 AM
***Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
An update on the brutal stabbing that occurred at noon yesterday at the Fawwar Junction: the IDF soldier remains in “serious condition” this morning, but doctors report that his condition is “stable.” Fortunately, the terrorist who stabbed him died in surgery yesterday afternoon.
Among the other 40 attacks yesterday:
Palestinian terrorists threw pipe bombs, IEDs, and Molotov firebombs at IDF soldiers at the Pharmacy Checkpoint in Hebron, at Rachel’s Tomb near Bethlehem, and at Tulkarm, al Be’er, and Mt. Hebron.
Palestinian terrorists hurled “rocks” and other projectiles at bus passengers near Hizma; at Israeli motorists near Peduel, Gilo, Beit Ummar, Fawwar, Benjamin, Silwan, Hebron, Atarot, and Route 60 near Ofra; at security forces in Issawiya; at bus 825 in Samaria; and at Israeli homes in Beit El.
Palestinian gunmen opened fire on IDF positions at Qalandiya, and a Palestinian sniper hit an Israeli car close to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.
***John Kerry has left the building . . .
The sooner the better. Kerry left last night lamenting the fact that he came away with “no achievements.” Translated, this means that for once, Israel did not kowtow to U.S. demands.
Moreover, an “unnamed” senior official traveling with Kerry “confided” that Kerry was taken aback by Israel’s demand that the U.S. recognize the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria as part of Israel in return for permitting Palestinian construction in Area C.
***Contrast the coverage . . .
All it takes is one word scrawled in Hebrew on a Muslim mosque in Israel for the entire Muslim world and their minions in the West (as well as the Israeli “left”) to blast the Israel “right” for being fanatics.
On the other hand, when incidents happen like that of last week at a Tiberias synagogue where “Allahu Akbar” was written on the front door, no one says a word. Not even a peep.
Or how about yesterday when this was found hanging over the front door of a synagogue in Arad:

Where is the international outcry? Where is the outcry of “human rights” organizations? Nowhere to be seen or heard.
TODAY’S BLOG:
What if your humble servant told you that after months and even years of increasing Palestinian violence, the following proposal was made yesterday to the leadership of this country?
- Supply vastly more armored vehicles, weapons, and ammunition to the PLO
- Dramatically increase the number of work permits for “young Palestinians” to work in Israel
- Dramatically increase the number of building permits for Palestinians in Area C
- Immediately release Palestinian murderers from Israeli prisons
Whom would you think made the proposal?
The Obama Administration? The European Union? The PLO? Hamas? The Arab League? A consortium of “human rights’ NGOs including The New Israel Fund and B’Tselem?
You would be wrong on all counts.
This bizarrely dangerous proposal came from the General Command of the Israel Defense Forces.
Yes, you read that correctly, this proposal was made to the Netanyahu government by our own IDF.
Never mind that members of the PLO security forces have been among the terrorists carrying out the stabbings and bulldozer attacks against Israelis and are leading the incitement against us, the IDF wants to increase their weaponry.
Never mind that most of those carrying out murderous attacks against Israelis have been Palestinian “young people”, the IDF wants to bring more of them into the heart of Israel.
Never mind that massive illegal Palestinian building is already taking place in Area C–an area under Israeli administrative and security control, the IDF wants to increase Palestinian construction.
Never mind that previous disastrous releases of Palestinian murderers have only resulted in more Israelis being murdered, the IDF wants to put more of them back on the street.
Even Netanyahu himself was shocked by the proposals yesterday, and following a cabinet meeting last night declared that he would not arm the PLO nor would he release any more prisoners.
Perhaps the only person who is not shocked by all of this is your humble servant.
We have long argued on this blog that the IDF General Command is controlled by a group of extremely left-wing “bureaucrats” who sit in their military offices in Tel Aviv and play footsie with Hamas and the PLO. It is a bureaucracy that thinks that blowing up sand dunes in Gaza is an appropriate response to Hamas missile fire, continuing to prop up Mahmoud Abbas is the only alternative that Israel has, and turning over security arrangements in eastern Jerusalem to the PLO is a great idea.
It is dangerously deluded thinking which is partially responsible for the violence that Israel currently finds itself enmeshed in.
But back to the outcries from all sides of the political spectrum about the IDF proposal. Perhaps the most eloquently expressed disdain this morning comes from the Almagor Association (the Association of Bereaved Families).
A spokesman for that organization said simply and succinctly:“Someone in the IDF must have gone crazy.”
