***An enlightening picture from Ramallah . . .
A picture taken yesterday which shows the state of affairs in the Palestinian capital–the home of the PLO security forces which our idiotic IDF General Command wants to supply with more weapons:
Judea and Samaria are awash with weapons–almost all of which are under the direct control of the PLO. While the people in this picture may look like a ragtag group of thugs, you can be sure that they are the direction of the PLO. Otherwise, they would never be able to set up a roadblock into Ramallah.
TODAY’S BLOG:
As you will note at the top of this page, today is the 15th of Kislev–which means that it is exactly ten days until the beginning of Chanukah.
A message was sent out about the coming holiday from a wedding last night in Jerusalem.
It was not just any wedding.
Sarah Litman, whose father Yaakov and brother Netanel were shot to death two weeks ago in a terror attack near Otniel, was married to Ariel Beigel at the Jerusalem Convention Center. Because of the unusual circumstances, Sarah Litman invited the entire country of Israel to come to the ceremony.
Thousands showed up, including hundreds of MADA volunteers, thousands of yeshiva students, and even Sarah Netanyahu. The ceremony was indeed bittersweet with loving remembrances of the father and brother. As many of you dear readers know, the conclusion of a Jewish wedding is always marked by the breaking of a glass. Often, a small amount of sand is placed in the glass to symbolize the destroyed remains of the Temple in Jerusalem.
However last night, the sand was replaced with earth taken from the blood-soaked ground where the terror attack occurred. As the glass was broken, a heart-broken yet ebullient 21-year-old Sarah offered these words:
“Until two weeks ago, nobody knew or was interested in me and Ariel, then one minute on Friday – at the height of preparations – my father and brother were murdered by a heinous terrorist. There is not a moment in which I do not miss the smile of Netanel and the humility and modesty of my father, it will always accompany me.
But precisely in the midst of the pain, in the month of bravery before Hannukah, we will spread, together with all of the people of Israel, an immense light of happiness, giving and love which was bestowed upon us by the nation of Israel. The main thing is not to fear at all.”
Rare eloquence.
Your humble servant wishes the best to Sarah and Ariel as they begin their married journey!
