Yesterday and today (Monday and Tuesday so far), there have been more than 30 Palestinian terror attacks ranging from the firebombing of an IDF vehicle at Homesh to the firebombing of Jewish homes in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood of Jersualem.

At 7:55 am this morning, Palestinian terrorists attacked a bus in the Hebron Hills area. At 2:21 pm this afternoon, Palestinian terrorists attacked medical personnel who arrived at the Ben Zion interchange to treat people injured in a traffic accident.

Less than a week after Moshe Ya’alon’s COGAT unit cut off cement deliveries to private entities in Gaza because they were using the cement to built tunnels and military headquarters, it was announced today that the deliveries have resumed.

According to the IDF spokesman, a “new method” of cement distribution will be put into place to ensure that Hamas doesn’t get its hands on it.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.

We always hear canards about how Gazans don’t have enough food to eat, water to drink, and places to live. Of course, the Gazans themselves never seem to bear any responsibility for their supposed plight.

This morning the Hamas Interior Ministry proudly announced that 14,194 babies were born in Gaza between January 1 and March 31.

All Israelis are aware of the dangerous situations on the roads in the country. Almost everyone speeds, does not respect lane integrity, and aggressively uses his or her car as a continual honking battle weapon.

Around 350 Israelis are killed in traffic accidents each year. It turns out that an average of 25% (about 90) of the victims are pedestrians who are killed crossing streets or standing in pedestrian medians between streets. Another 25% of those killed are motorcycle riders–who are notoriously poor drivers in Israel, often speeding between cars while racing down freeways.

–>The new agreement between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, (and Israel) . . .

The agreement signed a few days ago between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and signed off on by Israel, is significant for a number of reasons.

Note the location of the Tiran Strait, Tiran Island, and Sanafir Island.

Foremost among those reasons is that Egypt has returned to Saudi Arabia two islands at the mouth of the Straits of Tiran (also known as the Tiran Strait). Tiran and Sanafir islands control entrance to and exit from the Red Sea. As such, they play a critical role in Red Sea shipping.  The islands were always “owned” by Saudi, but had been “administered” by Egypt.

The question simply is whether the Saudis can be trusted to abide by the terms of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty which permits Israeli naval vessels unfettered access through the Straits. For the moment, the Saudis have agreed to abide by the provisions of that treaty–even though they were at pains this morning to declare that in doing so they are not making an agreement with Israel.

For its part, Israel has signed off on the agreement–not that it had a lot of choice. Obviously, Israel hopes that the next change in the Saudi monarchy will not blow an even colder wind from Riyadh.

One other not so small detail.

Part of the Saudi-Egyptian agreement is to build a bridge across the Strait from Saudi Arabia to the Sinai. An obvious question is whether this will facilitate the movement of terrorists in and out of the Sinai, and in and out of Saudi Arabia. Given that neither Egypt nor Saudi Arabia has a positive track record about controlling terrorists at their borders, one must think that the bridge may become a terrorist highway.

Another day, another travesty of justice in Judea and Samaria.

This time the location was Havat Gilad (translated as “Gilad Farm”).  Havat Gilad is located in the heart of Samaria.

Note the proximity of Havat Gilad to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

This morning, at the specific and personal direction of “Defense” Minister Moshe Ya’alon, the Civil Administration in the form of IDF, police, and Border Guards arrived at the community and began to destroy buildings that they claim are on private Palestinian property. This claim is made despite the fact that Moshe Zar bought the land over a decade ago.

Why did he buy the land? Because his son Gilad, the security coordinator for the Shomron Council, was murdered in 2001 by Palestinian terrorists–and Moshe promised to build six communities, one for each letter in Gilad’s name (in Hebrew, Gilad has six letters). Moshe’s oldest son Itai established the community in 2002 memory of his brother.

Given the current state of terrorism existing in Samaria, this morning’s events were particularly egregious. As one community member put it: “Large forces of the police and Civil Administration Director arrived this morning to fulfill the orders of impotent Defense Minister. They destroyed Jewish homes rather than dealing with the Arab enemy. We are being murdered in the streets, and they are busy demolishing houses.”
