. . . BREAKING NEWS . . .

7:15 pm: Bus bombing update. Jerusalem police are doing their best not to call the bus bombing a terror attack–despite the fact that a doctor at Hadassah Hospital says most of the wounded suffer wounds from nails, screws, and bolts such as those inflicted in a terror attack; despite the fact that witnesses on the scene describe an explosion on the bus; and despite the fact that security forces are currently engaged in a manhunt for terrorists.

6:33 pm: Bus bombing update: Two people are in “critical condition”; others in “serious to moderate” condition. Two buses caught fire, not just one.

UPDATES 5 pm Israel time:

–>Palestinian terror yesterday (Sunday) and so far today.

Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israeli children, women, and men with “rocks” at Hebron, Gush Etzion, City of David (child wounded), Shuafat (light rail train damaged), Gilad Farm (windshield of car shattered, passengers traumatized), Halhul Bridge, Wadi Joz, Ma’ale Michmash, Route 443, Karni Shomron, Makel, and the Tapuach Junction among many places.

Palestinian terrorists firebombed motorists in Gush Etzion and Efrat, and IDF soldiers at Umm Salmona, Beit Anun, and Silwan.

–>The continuing IDF attack on the Hevron soldier.

The Military Advocate General’s office has filed charges against the soldier who shot and killed a terrorist whom he suspected of wearing a suicide vest (on the bases of having been told so by MADA personnel and an IDF superior who were on site).

And the IDF has identified the soldier as El’or Azariya.

Not only has Azariya been charged with manslaughter but also the IDF has charged him with conduct unbecoming an IDF soldier.

For the IDF to make these charges in the face of a mountain of evidence that the soldier acted appropriately stinks of nothing more than political correctness run amok.

Meanwhile, the presiding military judge ordered that Azariya be kept under “house arrest” on an open military base, but that he be allowed to celebrate Passover later this week with his family at home.

Meanwhile, rallies for the soldier are taking place all over Israel tonight and tomorrow–with a mass rally scheduled for tomorrow at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv featuring numerous Israeli performing artists.

–>About those security cameras on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

You will recall that it was the “visionary, peace-seeking, diplomatic, wise” (a selection of John Kerry’s words) King Abdullah that supposedly offered the idea of putting cameras on the Mount. From the Palestinian perspective the cameras were to show how Jewish “extremists” are attempting to “take over the Mount.”

In reality, the cameras would show how Palestinian terrorists use the Mount, and particularly the Al-Aksa Mosque as a headquarters for terrorist attacks against Jews visiting the Mount.

In any case, the Jordanians came to the Mount last month, selected the locations for the cameras, and announced that the system was ready to go. However, Palestinians began plastering the Mount with flyers saying that if the cameras were installed, they would destroy them.

Guess what? This afternoon, the Jordanian government led by the “visionary, peace-seeking, diplomatic, wise” King Abdullah, announced that the camera system for the Mount has been “canceled.”

TODAY’S BLOG:

A massive electronically equipped Hamas tunnel–more than a mile (2.5 km) long, 30 meters underground, and running along the eastern Gaza border–has been discovered leading from Gaza all the way into Israel in the area near the Kerem Shalom Crossing.

Note that Gaza is to the right, the Armistice Line, and Israel to the left. The tunnel extended to the place marked in green "240".

Note that Gaza is to the right, the Armistice Line, and Israel to the left. The tunnel extended to the place marked in green “240”. The tunnel came up in Kibbutz Sufa; that is Kibbutz Cholit beside it; in the upper left hand corner is Sde Avram. Do you remember all the reports from residents of the kibbutzim about tunneling sounds underneath their homes?

Think about that for a moment. Think about the Hamas investment in terms of time, labor, and money necessary to build such a tunnel.

What possible purposes could such a tunnel have? Supporting attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers? Kidnapping soldiers and civilians? The list is endless.

But you will never believe what the IDF spokesman said after the tunnel was exposed:

“We do not see any intention or escalation of Hamas’s intention to go forward.”

Say what?

A tunnel is built to ferry terrorists directly into the heart of Israel, and the idiotic IDF general command cannot see any malevolent “intention” of Hamas?

Such a comment is breathtakingly absurd and dangerous.

As for Hamas, it crowed: “The enemy did not dare to publish all the details and information of the tunnel that it revealed. What the enemy announced is a only drop in the ocean of what Hamas is prepared to do to protect the Palestinian people and liberate the holy places, the land, and our prisoners.”

No evil intent. Sure thing.

It is simply mind-boggling the extent to which our politically correct and pusillanimous IDF General Command will go to defend the very Hamas terrorists dedicated to our destruction.
