UPDATES 6:00 pm Israel time:

–>Palestinian terror continued unabated yesterday (Sunday).

Riots in Issawiya, at Rachel’s Tomb, and elsewhere, “rock” attacks on Route 443, at Beit Horon, and elsewhere–there were some 15 terror incidents during the day.

–>Huge crowds descend on Hebron and the Kotel (Western Wall).

The Passover festival brought tens of thousands of worshipers to the Cave of the Patriarchs yesterday:

The banner reads:

The banner refers to the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Six Day War with its liberation of Jerusalem and the heart of Israel (Judea and Samaria).

And how rare is a picture like this. The Cave of the Patriarchs adorned with Israeli flags:

What a rare and wonderfiul sight! (picture: kipa).

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of others came to the Kotel for the priestly blessing:

TODAY’S BLOG:

Palestinian glorification of terrorism continues unabated.

Two events in the last week show how far Palestinian culture has gone off the deep end.

In the first, a “Palestinian” private elementary school with about 300 students in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber, hosted an event in which the families of terrorists who killed Israeli men, women, and children were the honored guests.

One of featured guests was Mohammad Aliyan, the father of the terrorist Baba Aliyah who murdered three Israelis on a bus in East Talpiot which is beside Jabel Mukaber. At the “party”, Aliyan crowed that his son never really died because now he (the father) has “300 new Babas.”

The following picture of Aliyan speaking with the children appeared on a Facebook page with the school’s emblem.

How long will it be before this boy follows in the footsteps of Baba Aliyan?

Other terrorist families such as the one of Mohammed Ali who was shot to death after stabbing a Border Guard in the neck at the Damascus Gate, attended the meeting. And were hugged, embraced, extolled, and applauded by representatives from the Palestinian Ministry of Education–and parents of children at the school.

The second event took place in the Aida Palestinian settlement near Rachel’s Tomb outside of Bethlehem. The Aida settlement is often called a “refugee camp” even though most of the homes there belong to affluent and middle class Palestinian families.

The event was the mourning tent of Abd al-Hamid Abu Srur, 19, who carried out the bus attack in Jerusalem a few days ago in which he died from the bomb he detonated. Srur has been dubbed the “Armani bomber” by the Israeli press because of numerous pictures that have emerged on Facebook and elsewhere of him attired in Armani apparel.

Not surprisingly, in the hours following Srur’s terror attack, the PLO (Fatah) and Hamas rushed to claim Srur as one of their own–and the mourning tent was quickly transformed into a sea of green Hamas flags and yellow Fatah ones. It turns out that Srur was actually affiliated with Hamas.

Srur quickly became a heroic pop icon.

The actions and comments of Srur’s affluent parents were telling.

At first, his mother threw Hamas and PLO activists out of the tent–only to welcome them back in shortly thereafter as she was enshrined as Umm Srur (the mother of the martyr Srur). Her explanation of her son’s action was that “it was an act of self-defense.”

As for Srur’s father, he intoned “I’m an enlightened man. Maybe I would have acted differently, perhaps with the pen, maybe in writing, but each has his own way of resistance . . . The Israeli government is totally to blame.”

Both mother and father were infuriated when Mahmoud Abbas tepidly criticized the attack a few days after it occurred, with the mother declaring: “Abbas [aka Abu Mazen] is not a representative of the Palestinian people.

In sum, what are young Palestinians being taught?

To extol murderers and raise them to the level of heroic pop icons. Not only are Palestinian parents taking no responsibility for the actions of their children, they are encouraging their children to become terrorists. An entire generation of Palestinian youth is being indoctrinated in hatred.
