Two more terrorists met their timely end at Qalandiya this morning.

***Palestinian terror continued unabated yesterday (Tuesday).

Numerous terror incidents occurred including:

. . . Palestinian terrorists throwing Molotov firebombs at IDF forces at Shuqba and Israeli motorists at Shuafat Ridge.

. . . Palestinian terrorists throwing “rocks” at Beit Fajar, Abu Dis, A-Ram, on Sultan Suleiman Street in Jerusalem, at Tekoa, Abu Vesnina, Azzun, Nazareth, Ras al-Amud, Ofer, and Yabad.

***Fires continue to burn in Israel.

It is estimated this morning that some 10,000 acres of forest and grass land has thus far been charred.

The fires have been caused by a combination of camper and hiker negligence, Palestinian arson, and weather-related events.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Last Friday the graduate students’ union at New York University voted to approve a BDS resolution which called for a boycott of Israel. Of the 645 union members who voted, 66.5% voted in favor (the vote was 429 to 216)..

The BDS resolution was far reaching. It demanded that:

*NYU divest from Israeli companies doing business with the university.

*NYU close its program at Tel Aviv University.

*Israel dismantle the separation fence that stops Palestinian suicide bombers from entering Israel.

*Israel recognize the right of 5,000,000+ so-called “Palestinian refugees” to move to Israel.

Union members who voted for the resolution also signed a personal pledge not to work with Israeli academic institutions.

What has happened at other universities at which student unions have passed similar resolutions is that administrative personnel have stated that their universities will not follow the resolutions.

However, seldom have we seen as dramatic statement as that issued by NYU President Andrew Hamilton on Monday.

It was a startlingly refreshing moment of moral clarity which has become so rare these days. It needs no further comment from your humble servant except to say Kolakevod!.

A Statement by President Andrew Hamilton on the Grad Union Boycott Vote
April 25, 2016
“A boycott of Israeli academics and institutions is contrary to our core principles of academic freedom, antithetical to the free exchange of ideas, and at odds with the University’s position on this matter, as well as the position of GSOC’s parent union. NYU will not be closing its academic program in Tel Aviv, and divestment from Israeli-related investments is not under consideration. And to be clear: whatever ‘pledges’ union members may or may not have taken does not free them from their responsibilities as employees of NYU, which rejects this boycott.
