UPDATES 6:00 pm Israel time:

***A brief selection of Palestinian terror today:

Riots took place in a number of locations, and rioters attacked Israeli security personnel with “rocks” and Molotovs. One terrorist was shot and wounded during a riot in Bethlehem.

Numerous “rock” attacks took place throughout Judea and Samaria. See “Today’s Blog” for one example.

Overnight, four terrorists suspected of throwing “rocks” and Molotovs were captured in Samaria.

***Responding to the wave of injuries and deaths caused by “humanitarian trucks” carrying “humanitarian” supplies to Gaza, Israel announced today that beginning tomorrow that the main road to the Kerem Shalom Crossing will be closed from 07:00 to 09:00 am during the morning rush hours and from 17:00 until 19:00 every afternoon during the afternoon-evening rush hours.

2000 heavy trucks speed down the road everyday.

Transportation Minister Israel Katz interestingly said:

“I’m determined to make the decision despite opposition from various elements. Protecting the lives of students and residents of the Negev who are exposed to dangers and accidents on the way to school is more important than providing products to facilitate the power of Hamas in Gaza.”

Despite opposition from various sources? Who could possibly be opposed to protecting the lives of Israeli families traveling the road?

Already this afternoon, UNRWA and various European entities are complaining about the impending partial road closures.

***A large delegation of Japanese businessmen are currently in Israel.

After signing various trade agreements, the CEO of Mitsubishi Chemical succinctly summed up why the Japanese were in Israel:

“I have been to Israel several times, and we realized a dream this morning. There is no resource more important than the human mind, and therefore Japan and Israel can act for good and bring innovation to the world.”

When asked by a reporter why Israel is so successful in innovation, he responded: “In Israel, there is no such thing as impossible, thanks to Israeli chutzpah.”

How right he is.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Not a day goes by that israelstreet does not document the massive number of “rock” attacks that Palestinian terrorists carry out. Each day, Israeli men, women, and children are assaulted throughout Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.

So many in fact that it is easy to become inured to the violence. And our mere listing of all the places where “rock” attacks have occurred does not do justice to those who manage to survive the attacks.

So let’s take a look at just 1 attack that occurred today.

At about 3 pm this afternoon, an Israeli woman was driving her car on Road 443 in Gush Etzion near the Efrat T-Junction.

In the back seat were her two small children.

Suddenly, Palestinian terrorists “opened fire” from the side of the road, shattering the back window glass of her car with “rocks.”

The back window glass and one of the "rocks" that hit it.

The “rocks” not only shattered the glass; one of them hit one of the woman’s daughters. And the glass did not merely shatter; it exploded inside the car slicing and cutting both of the woman’s children.

The mother bravely managed to continue driving until she reached the safety of a checkpoint.

All three people in the car were rushed to medical clinics in Jerusalem: one child with head wounds caused by the rock; one child wounded by exploding glass; and the mother who was treated for extreme trauma.

Such is daily life in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem. The next time that you see a list of “rock” attacks posted on this blog, remember this one attack in Gush Etzion.
