UPDATES 6 pm Israel time

…Palestinian terror so far today…

At 12:50 pm, a terrorist was shot and killed near Einav by Israeli soldiers of the Shimshon Battalion of the Kfir Brigade. The shooting came as she rushed at the soldiers and attempted to stab them.

At 9:29 am, there was an attempted stabbing just outside the Jerusalem Central Bus Station near the Jerusalem Light Rail stop. No one was wounded and the terrorist was captured.

A Palestinian “rock” attack on Route 437 at Hizma early this morning caused an Israeli motorist to crash with resulting injuries to several passengers in the car.

…Palestinian terror yesterday…

It was a normal day with more than 25 terror attacks: Molotov firebombs at Al-Khader and Silwan; an IED at Qabatiya; “rocks” at numerous locations such as Efrat, Route 443 near the Dor Alon gas station (one person wounded), Eli, Anata, and outside Bethlehem.

MADA reports that many were traumatized in the above incidents.

…Another proposed NGO bill begins its circuitous path…

The law, which has been nicknamed the “V-15 Law”, passed its first reading in the Knesset yesterday. It now must pass two more readings to become law. That will not happen anytime soon because of intense opposition from the Israel “Left” and its leftist international friends, but at least the process has started.

Called V-15 because of the way that the V-15 movement which was funded by foreign sources (notably the U.S. State Department) attempted to influence Israeli elections last year, the law seeks to place numerous restrictions on foreign-funded NGOs which attempt to campaign in Israel and even transport people to the polls to vote.

In supporting the law, Knesset Legislator Yoav Kish commented: “The goal we have to keep in mind must be clear. Left and right, the democratic process in Israel belongs solely to the citizens of Israel.”

…Want to help choose the next Miss Israel?…

Ynet Magazine has been running an online contest during the last month to determine a “Miss Israel” (an official contest is held at a different time). Below are the four finalists. You can vote by clicking on the link below the pictures.

…More and more cars pour into Israel…

25,527 new cars arrived in Israel in May–bringing the total for the year to 139,061 since January 1. Both of these numbers are all-time records.

And a disaster.

Israel is already beset by carnage on the roads with endless fatal traffic accidents. Putting even more cars on the roads in this tiny country is a recipe for disaster.

TODAY’S BLOG:

Bassem Aida, noted Palestinian human rights activist, spoke at the University of Ariel in Samaria today.

Just the fact that he was speaking at Ariel was news in itself.

However some of his comments were even more surprising, and should give self-proclaimed “human rights” activists everywhere something to think about:

“If anyone can make peace between Palestinians and Israelis, it is Israeli Arabs. But unfortunately, because of the Arab leadership in Israel today, I do not see any hope that these people will form bridge between Israelis and Palestinians.

“. . . if tomorrow morning Israel decides to annex Area C, the next thing that will happen is that all of the Palestinians who live in Areas A and B will try to migrate to Area C. I’m one million percent sure of this.”

“If you ask Palestinians today about the Nakba–and whether they suffer more from what happened in 1948 or 1967, they will tell you that the real Nakba was the arrival of the Palestinian Authority in 1994. The Palestinian government created by Oslo was the real Nakba.”

“Israel is very interested in the reconstruction of Gaza, but the Palestinian Authority is very interested in the destruction of the Gaza Strip. Since 1994, Palestinians have begun to realize that their lives under an Israeli government are much better than under any Palestinian or Arab rule.

Breathtakingly correct comments and worthy of applause!

Enough said.
