UPDATES 9 am Israel time:

…Palestinian terror yesterday unreported in the mainstream media…

More than 30 terror attacks were carried out by Palestinian terrorists.

*IDF soldiers and Border Guards were attacked with IEDs at Rachel’s Tomb just before noon.  In the afternoon, a bomb was discovered at the site; it was defused by sappers.

*IDF soldiers were the target of Molotov firebombs at Beit Awa. One terrorist was shot.

*Israelis were assaulted by “rocks at Makel, Efrat, Hevron, Deir Jarir, Rachel’s Tomb, Qibiliya, Shiloh, Khader, Road 443, Azzun, Hazor, and other places.

…Updates on the “Christian humanitarians” targeting Israel…

Yesterday, Germany joined Australia in cutting off funding to World Vision, the hideous NGO which funneled millions of “charitable” dollars to Hamas tunnels, weapons, and “salaries.”

…The U.S. daily condemnation of Israel…

Not a day goes by that the Obama Administration does not harshly castigate Israel for “something.”

In fact, it has become something of a joke here in Israel waiting to see what we will be condemned for each day.

Yesterday, State Department Spokesman Mark Toner attacked Israel for “discriminating against 5 members of “American Journey for the Sake of the End of the Occupation” from entering the country.

Toner wanted to proclaim that they were discriminated against because they were all American-Arabs.

Upon landing at the airport, they were immediately taken for questioning on the basis that “American Journey for the Sake of the End of the Occupation” focuses on supporting and promoting the BDS boycott against Israel.

Three of the five were legitimately refused entry because they actively seek to delegitimize Israel.

By the way, this past weekend, Jewish Israelis were illegitimately denied entrance to Jordan through the Yitzhak Rabin-Eilat crossing because they were wearing “Jewish clothing.”

The group had sought to worship at the tomb of Aaron, but were told that they could not enter because they were wearing kipot (head coverings), tallit, and tefillin. Specifically, they were told that no one “dressed like a Jew” can enter Jordan.

Where was U.S. outrage over this illegitimate denial of entry because of religious reasons?

Nowhere to be seen.

…Back to Ben Gurion…

Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri met yesterday to explore ways to stop “humanitarian activists” who support BDS from entering the country, and to create mechanisms to deport “humanitarian activists” who are already here.

Erdan and Deri are forming a legal team to gather information on boycott supporters and pursue them in the context of the “Entry to Israel Law” which is already on the books and grants the government extensive power to determine who gets into Israel.

…A follow-up to yesterday’s blog info about what’s happening in Syria…

It was another bloody day for Hezbollah in the Aleppo area with scores more dead–and with signs that the pro-Assad coalition is not faring very well and might fall apart completely were it not for Russian air support.

A Hezbollah commander summed up the problem this way: “The Iranians and Aghanis have fled leaving us to fight the battle alone.”

…On the financial front…

At the end of July, Israel’s foreign exchange reserves grew to $97.4 billion dollars–an all time record and $9 billion more than this time last year.

In essence, the Bank of Israel buys dollars to drive down the rate of shekel against the dollar in order to assist Israeli exporters.

…Your humble servant is no fan of former president Shimon Peres but…

You have to be impressed with the way that the 93-year-old keeps up a tremendously busy schedule and constantly surrounds himself with young people.

Whatever else you want to say about Shimon Peres, he certainly tries to stay young and on the cutting edge. Here he was yesterday promoting his new Snapchat site.

Whatever else you want to say about Shimon Peres, he certainly tries to stay young and on the cutting edge. Here he was yesterday promoting his new SnapChat site.

Now Peres is about to begin his own SnapChat site which he hopes will encourage young Israeli scientists and entrepreneurs to continue the surge in Israeli innovation.

TODAY’S BLOG:

The Yamoun neighborhood of Jenin was the scene of protest yesterday as demonstrations took place against power cuts to the city–power cuts precipitated by the failure of Palestinians to pay their electricity bills.

Many of the protesters, as usual, were Palestinian teenagers and pre-teens sent into the streets by their parents to protest.

In an appalling display of violence, many of these young people had their arms and legs broken by security personnel.

Broken legs, arms, and facial contusions.

A few of the broken legs, arms, and facial contusions (picture source on photo).

Of course, the protests were not directed at Israel, but at the faux-government of the PLO led by Mahmoud Abbas.

And the policemen who carried out what you see above were PLO police.

Yes, that’s right, Palestinian police beating up Palestinian youth.

Of course, this action is not likely to endear the population of Jenin to the PLO insofar as the upcoming Palestinian elections on October 8th (if they are not postponed again) are concerned. But what does the PLO care about Jenin? It is a Hamas stronghold.

Speaking of the Palestinian election campaign, it began in earnest this week.

And the PLO was first out of the box boasting that its Fatah movement has “killed more than 11,000 Israelis” since its inception.

Now step back for a moment.

Can you even begin to imagine what the world reaction would be if it had been Israeli police beating up Palestinian youngsters?

Or an Israeli political party boasting that it had killed 11,000 Palestinians?

The criticism would have been deafening.

But what happened yesterday in regard to the PLO?

Absolutely nothing.

Dead silence.
