Palestinian Terror in the Last 24 hours
Small fires continue burning and a few other small fires have been set, but intense firefighting efforts have brought the situation under control. Nevertheless, do not be surprised if continued windy and warming weather does not bring out more Palestinian arsonists during the day.
And don’t forget that Palestinian arsonists try to start fires by throwing Molotov firebombs everyday.
Here’s a sample of what happened yesterday concerning Molotovs: Palestinians firebombed Israeli vehicles near Al Khader–setting not only cars on fire but also roadside vegetation. Palestinian arsonists threw Molotovs at Aida, Basoowiya, Zeita, in the Gush Etzion Hills, and at Psagot In each case, fires had to be doused.
But all of these Molotov attacks were confined to Judea and Samaria and thus received no coverage in the Israeli media.
“Rock” attacks at Deir Nazim, Sinjil, A-Tur, Latormosaya, Nabi Elias, the Mt. Hebron Bypass Road, Jisr az Zarqa, and throughout Gush Etzion.
A leftist Israeli incites more arson
Haaretz reporter Chaim Levinson tweeted out yesterday “Why not burn Amona and get it over with?”
Amona, as you may recall, is the Jewish community slated for evacuation and destruction on December 25 according to the dictate of the Israel Supreme Court. Already a large encampment has gone up around Amona housing hundreds of activists who plan to resist that evacuation and destruction.
But for Levinson to suggest that Amona be burned goes beyond the pale.
Why does it go beyond the pale?
If for no other reason, look at what happened to the Jewish community of Halamish over the weekend. Palestinian terrorists set fires on all four sides of the community in a concerted effort to erase the community. 20 houses burned to the ground.
It will be interesting to see, especially given the “incendiary” words of Levinson, if Halamish style attacks begin happening everywhere.
The incident on the Golan yesterday
The IDF/IAF quickly dispatched four IS terrorists yesterday as they began shooting from Syria at an IDF observation post.
This was the first time, at least the first time publicized, that the IDF has engaged IS.
TODAY’S BLOG:
How much do you like these institutions?
A Sapir survey taken last week, commissioned by the leftist Yedioth Aharonot newspaper of more than 500 Israelis (over the age of 18) simply asked the question “How much do you like these institutions?” Respondents could answer from 1 (zero) to 5 (100). An average was then made of the answers. Here are the results.

Leftist or not, the poll seems (to your humble servant) to accurately reflect the feelings of most Israelis. The IDF, MADA, and ZAKA are almost universally revered in Israel, and banks, cell phone providers, Betuach Leumi, and politicians are almost universally reviled.
