The News on the Israel Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
A Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife was captured on the Jerusalem Light Rail, thereby averting a stabbing attack.
Palestinian terrorists assaulted Israeli motorists with Molotov firebombs in multiple attacks along the Gush Etzion Road near Jerusalem.
Palestinian terrorists carried out “rock” and Molotov attacks at Sinjil, Hawara, on Road 443, at Abu Dis, A-Tur, and numerous other places.
All told, more than 30 Palestinian terror attacks were reported yesterday.
Kushner rebuffed by Egypt (and no warmth in Jordan either) . . .
It is interesting to see how Israel always feels like it has to walk on eggshells whenever a U.S. Administration representative arrives on the scene.
But not the Arabs–and especially not Egypt.
Yesterday, in retaliation for the cutting off of some American “foreign aid” to Egypt, the Egyptian Foreign Minister canceled his scheduled meeting with Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.
What do you think the American reaction will be? The Trump Administration will immediately try to “suck up” to the Egyptians. Netanyahu and Israel should watch how the Egyptians work and take notes.
The growing threat from Hezbollah . . .
Israel Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon once again told anyone who will listen yesterday that UNIFIL forces stationed in south Lebanon are doing nothing to stop Hezbollah violations of Security Council resolutions.
One of those violations is being active in a zone along the border fence where only UNIFIL is supposed to be. The past few days have seen even more activity there with Hezbollah activists suddenly planting trees across the fence from IDF observation posts.
And another (these pictures come from a Lebanese website, note the circled Israeli soldiers):
Another major trial gets underway . . .
Now that the kangaroo trial of the Hevron soldier Elor Azariya has concluded, another kangaroo trial is about to get started.
This is the trial of Amiram Ben Uliel who is charged with the murder of three members of the Palestinian Dawabsheh family in Duma in July of 2015. You may recall that the family members died when a Molotov cocktail was thrown through a window of Dawabsheh house and it caught on fire.
You may also recall that here on israelstreet we have reported extensively about how the Dawabsheh family and another Palestinian family in Duma have been carrying out clan warfare for years–and that in fact, other Dawabsheh homes and cars have been firebombed.
You may also recall that here on israelstreet we have been particularly critical of Shin Bet interrogation techniques in the eliciting Uliel’s so-called “confession.” It is obvious that by any standard definition, Uliel was tortured.
Whether he was tortured into confessing is the first issue the Court will have to face before proceeding with the trial. If defense attorneys succeed, the entire case could be thrown out.
But don’t count on it. Just as with Azariya, the government has too much invested in this case to let Uliel walk free.
Our local dictator (PM Netanyahu) issues another Temple Mount decree . . .
The Jerusalem Police revealed yesterday that for the first time in two years, Knesset members will be allowed to visit the Temple Mount (Har HaBeit).
The first visit will be next Tuesday, for one day only. The Police said that they had planned to allow members on the Mount for a week, but Netanyahu personally intervened and decreed that only one day would be allotted.
By what authority can Netanyahu issued such an order?
None.
The fact that any time has been allotted is a tribute to Temple Mount activist and Likud Knesset member Rabbi Yehuda Glick who has made Jewish rights on the Temple Mount his life work.
By the way, the Police announced that the visit will be a pilot project “to judge the impact of such visits.” By making this announcement, they might as well have put up a sign encouraging Palestinians to riot because they surely will–and give Netanyahu an excuse to forbid such visits.
Fiber-Sheva . . .
Can you guess which city in Israel will become the first to have complete fiber optic coverage, hence the fastest internet in the country?
Of course, it is obvious from the title of this segment.
Beersheva.
There are already fiber optic neighborhoods in Ra’anana, Netanya, Ramat Gan, and Tel Aviv, but this is the first time an entire city will be outfitted with fiber optic cable.
During and after the period they often have sildenafil tablets australia anemia. As the natural cialis cheap herbs are the components of No Fall capsules daily two times after breakfast in the morning and after food in the night for three to four months. The medicine has buy levitra to be used by the men around the globe and not women. So, on the basis of these consequences, we can say that every man has buy levitra online his own painful experience with the condition and that is undoubtedly unexplainable.
Why Beersheva?
If you haven’t been to Beersheva lately, you probably wouldn’t recognize it. With the move of IDF Central Headquarters to just south of the city, numerous high tech companies have moved in.
And therein lies the answer.
Two fascinating archeological finds yesterday.
One was a silver half-shekel coin from the period 66-70 CE (just before the destruction of the Second Temple). It was found in Halamish by a young girl.
The second was a mosaic floor belonging apparently to a Byzantine hostel just outside the Damascus Gate which dates to approximately 1500 years ago.
By this afternoon, both finds will be fraudulently claimed by the Palestinians who will say it was a Palestinian coin and a Palestinian mosaic. And then that fraudulent claim will be supported tomorrow by the fraudulent UNESCO which will declare that there have never been any Jews or Christians in Israel.
TODAY’S BLOG:
What Can Israel Learn From the EU About Fighting Terror?
Answer: Nothing.
Lars Faaborg-Andersen, E.U. Ambassador to Israel said this in his parting ceremony on Tuesday:
“Israel has something to learn from the European Union how to fight terror. . . There is a significant security dimension and you are using it, but there are other aspects to work with, such as welfare services, education, etc., and Europe has adopted a holistic approach to the war on terror – and Israel can certainly learn from European experience.”
Can you believe this arrogant babble?
After a murderous week which has seen numerous Europeans run down and stabbed to death in Spain and Finland, the outgoing EU Ambassador to Israel has the gall to preach to Israel about having something to learn about fighting terror from the Europeans?
What a sick joke.
What do we have to learn? Apparently a “holistic” approach to fighting terror.
First, we can follow the European model and let 5 million+ so-called Palestinian “refugees” flood into our country the way that Muslim “refugees” have flooded into Europe.
That would be sure to stop terrorism.
Second, we can institute a welfare system like the European model. That way we could alienate and ghettoize whole segments of the Muslim population as has been done with Muslim immigrants in such places as France, Sweden, and Belgium.
That would be sure to stop terrorism.
Third, we can create an educational system based on the European model that is devolving into segregated systems for non-Muslim and Muslim instruction in countries such as England.
That would be sure to stop terrorism.
And on and on. We could have sharia courts and build more mosques–all following the European model.
And we could just sit around, hold hands, and sing kumbaya with terrorists.
Yes, we could really learn a lot from Europe.
Learn a lot about what not to do.
One final note. As noted, this arrogant piece of nonsense about Israel having something to learn from Europeans spewed forth from the mouth of Lars Faaborg-Andersen, the Danish diplomat, whose 4 year stint as EU Ambassador to Israel ended on Tuesday.
Faaborg-Andersen’s tenure as Ambassador has been marked by his support for a European boycott against Israeli items from Judea and Samaria, and the massive and illegal EU attempt to move Palestinians out of Areas A and B and into Area C by constructing illegal residences and infrastructure for them in Area C.
