The News On the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
There were more than 50 Palestinian terror attacks yesterday.
On one stretch of Road 375 alone, between the Husan Bypass and Beitar Illit, at least 16 cars were hit with “rocks” and Molotovs. Numerous people were wounded.
One of the cars hit:
Other “rock” and Molotov attacks occurred at the Tunnel Checkpoint (a pregnant woman had to be evacuated by MADA to Shaare Zedek hospital), Khader, Karmei Tzur, Hevron, Beit Ummar (a bus badly damaged), Tekoa, El Aruv, the Ravava Junction, Qalqilya, Amos, Deir Jarir, Nabi Saleh, Rachel’s Tomb, Binyamin, Uzrin, Haris, Hevron Hills, Migdalim, and many other places.
One of those “other places” was at Ir David where this car was incinerated by Molotovs:
The Israelis in the car were barely able to escape with their lives.
Meanwhile, the Gaza perimeter is a closed military area again following the mortar barrage several days ago.
Jerusalem’s infrastructure continues to expand . . .
The Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee approved the new Blue Line for the Jerusalem Light Rail yesterday.
The new line will only be 22 km and won’t be completed until 2023. What is significant is that the route will go along the Hevron Road all the way out to Gilo.
This new line will essentially connect the northernmost areas of municipal Jerusalem (Pisgat Ze’ev) to the southernmost (Gilo).
Hezbollah follows the Iranian example . . .
Just as Iran is actively recruiting mercenaries in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq, it turns out that Hezbollah is now doing the same in Moscow.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Hezbollah operatives are now paying mercenaries in Russia up to $15,000 dollars to fight in Syria. The foreign mercenary Hezbollah force in Syria is known as the Turan Brigade.
A reasonable question might be where cash-strapped Hezbollah is getting money to pay Russian mercenaries.
The answer of course is Iran—which remains flush with cash following the Obama-Democrat Iranian Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Deal.

U.N. Resolution 2334:
A Defense of Flynn And Trump
“Flynn’s guilty plea is about more than just lying to the FBI. What he lied about and when he did it are of even greater significance. This shows a Trump associate negotiating with the Russians against U.S. policy and interests before Donald Trump took office.”
Senior Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein, in a statement issued on Friday.
As a general rule, your humble servant has steered clear of all the controversies surrounding President Donald Trump and the charges of Russian collusion that are currently being investigated by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.
Your humble servant’s opinion is that the investigation should take its course, and then we can discuss its findings.
However . . .
A central figure in the investigation is General Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser. Your humble servant is no big fan of Flynn. This is especially true because of the way that Flynn hid the fact that he was being paid an outrageous sum of money to lobby for Turkey. And the way he lied to U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and to the FBI (as you will see below, he should have just told the truth).
One lie he told to Pence and the FBI was about contacts he had with the Russian Ambassador–a lie he has pleaded guilty to. It was this “lie” that Democrat Senator Feinstein was referring to in her statement.
But what was she talking about when she said: “What he lied about and when he did it are of even greater significance. This shows a Trump associate negotiating with the Russians against U.S. policy and interests before Donald Trump took office.”
Here’s the simple sequence of events:
1. Donald Trump was elected president on November 8 2016.
2. In December, it became clear that the Obama Administration was not going to use its veto to stop anti-Israel UN Security Council Resolution 2334. President Obama was determined to use his final act at the U.N. to stab Israel in the back.
3. Some time in December, someone in the incoming Administration (probably Jared Kushner) asked Flynn if he would contact the Russian Ambassador and try to get Russia to veto the Resolution. Flynn was also tasked with asking the U.K., Egypt, Uruguay, and Malaysia to vote against the Resolution. This was part of a huge Trump team effort to stop the Resolution.
Yes, you read that correctly, Pres. Elect Trump and his team were actively trying to quash Resolution 2334. They were doing their best to get a positive result for Israel.
4. All of this was to no avail. The Resolution passed on December 23.
Remember what Feinstein said: “This shows a Trump associate negotiating with the Russians against U.S. policy and interests before Donald Trump took office.”
If you ask your humble servant, it was President Obama and his Administration that were acting against U.S. policy and interests by throwing Israel under the bus.
And rather than be castigated, General Flynn, Trump, and members of Trump’s president-elect team should be applauded for their efforts.
Senator Dianne Feinstein should be ashamed as should others who defend UN Resolution 2334.
