A piece of a blog yesterday from renowned Saudi blogger Khalid Ashaerah in which he discussed that he hoped that Israel would defeat the Palestinians on the Gaza border (Source: Abu Ali post on rotter).
Blogs like this one coming from the Arab world are nothing if not remarkable.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Several hours ago, a stabbing was thwarted at the Central Jerusalem bus station when a Palestinian terrorist was captured.
Using a Molotov kite, Palestinian terrorists have started a large fire that has been burning for hours near the Besor Stream on the Gaza border.
On Route 446 near Nili, just outside of Tekoa in Gush Etzion, at the Pharmacy Checkpoint in Hevron, on Route 446 between Beit Aryeh and Peduel, at Shavei Shomron, in the Avraham Avinu neighborhood in Hevron, at Karmei Tzur, all along Road 443, near Kiryat Arba, and at Hizma: these are just 10 of the more than 30 locations at which Palestinian terrorists carried out attacks yesterday in Judea and Samaria.
An unfortunate Australian Embassy announcement . . .
Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull said yesterday that the Australian Embassy will remain in Tel Aviv.
In doing so, PM Turnbull uttered this nonsense:
“We hold the necessary view, like many other countries, that leaving the embassy in Tel Aviv helps the peace process.”
The necessary view? In case anyone has missed the fact, the American Embassy has moved to Jerusalem, and the sky has not fallen.
Helps the peace process? What peace process? The Palestinians have absolutely no desire for peace–and demonstrate that fact everyday.
Israel’s amazing security services . . .

Yesterday, at a ceremony marking increased trade between Israel and Panama, PM Netanyahu remarked about Mossad: “We are ready to cooperate. Israel’s security services and our excellent intelligence organizations have prevented terrorist attacks in more than 30 countries, serious terrorist attacks. We recently prevented the downing of a plane . . . we are now preventing such disasters by sharing our intelligence with other countries, as we share intelligence with our friends in Panama.”
We should all be thankful for our security services.
By the way, PM Turnbull, that plane terror plot was designed to blow up a plane flying from Sydney Australia to Abu Dhabi.
A changing of the guard . . .

It was clear to anyone who watched the opening ceremony of the American Embassy in Jerusalem that Sheldon Adelson–though ebullient–is unfortunately not in the best of health.
Adelson who has made his billions from his casino ventures is also the owner of the newspaper Israel Hayom, a newspaper which has completely changed the landscape of Israel media coverage by presenting a conservative viewpoint. As you probably know, Israel Hayom is given out for free on every street corner in Israel; it makes its money from advertising.
We all have worried about what will happen when Adelson passes from the scene. That question was dramatically answered this week with the news that Adelson’s wife, Dr. Miriam Adelson, has been named publisher of the paper replacing Asher Baharov. At the same time, it was announced that CEO Tzipi Koren will be leaving as well.
Of course we are sorry to see Baharov and Koren leave, but at the same your humble servant is elated to see Dr. Adelson take over. Concerning Baharov and Koren, Dr. Adelson remarked: “We are thankful for their establishing and managing Israel Hayom in a professional and responsible manner since the establishment of the newspaper. They revolutionized the media, and made media discourse in Israel more balanced and diverse.”
TODAY’S BLOG:
“The European Union Must Protect Iran From U.S. Sanctions.”
Yesterday, we noted on israelstreet how the European Union is sliding further into moral bankruptcy everyday. Two days ago we had EU Mogherini talk about enabling Iran to sell oil and keeping open European banks operating in Iran.
Today, we have the quote above from Emmanuel Macron, the President of France. Afterwards, Macron added that the EU must protect European companies that are threatened with sanctions by the Trump Administration. Macron actually proposed compensating European companies for revenue they will lose for not doing business with Iran.
Macron’s comments were accompanied by a statement from European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker who remarked that tomorrow “the European Union will announce a series of measures aimed at alleviating U.S. sanctions against Iran.”
Macron and Juncker were speaking because of the announcement that Denmark-based MAERSK, the largest shipping company in the world, announced yesterday it will stop all dealings with Iran because of U.S. sanctions. The giant French energy company Total is expected to follow MAERSK.
To conclude, let’s return to Macron’s quote that titles Today’s Blog.
Isn’t it remarkable how ultra-terrorist Iran is now being depicted at the victim by the Europeans?
