Wonderful Photo of the Night
The sign reads: “Citizens of the South, we love you.” It is signed by “Noa from Kiryat Arba.”
What wonderful expression of solidarity from someone who knows how important solidarity is. Kiryat Arba, located beside Hevron, is continually on the front lines against Palestinian terror.
Thank you Noa!
The News on the Israeli Street
The world is severely screwed up . . .
Let’s just say it like it is. The U.N. voted yesterday to renew the mandate of the abominable UNRWA–the organization that devotes its educational energies to teaching Palestinian children to grow up to be terrorists and kill Israelis.
The vote was 170 in favor, 7 abstentions, and 2 opposed. Those two were Israel and the United States.
As much as we praise President Trump for the UNRWA vote . . .
We have to shake our heads in bewilderment over President Trump’s love affair with violently anti-Semitic Turkish PM Erdogan.
After their meeting at the White House a couple of days ago during which Erdogan refused to back down from purchasing the Russian S400 defense system, Trump was nevertheless effusive about Erdogan saying that he and the Turkish anti-Semite are “very good friends” and that he is a “big fan” of Erdogan.
Go figure.
Islamic Jihad’s new missile . . .
The few missiles that Islamic Jihad fired during this recent mini-war that actually hit the ground before exploding were significantly larger than ones the terror group had fired in previous wars and mini-wars.
With the help of Iranian engineers, Islamic Jihad is now producing missiles that carry a 300kg payload.
The long awaited Netanyahu indictments . . .
It looks like what the Israeli left has been waiting in breathless anticipation for is about to happen.
Apparently, at least some indictments against PM Netanyahu are now expected to be handed down by the court on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Not surprisingly, this timing coincides with when Benny Gantz’s mandate to have Kahol Lavan (Blue and White) form a government runs out at midnight on Wednesday.
Speaking of that deadline . . .
Gantz and Avigdor Lieberman met yesterday and the result was not what those on the left had hoped for.

Gantz blathered that “We ended a good meeting, we went through the analysis of reality as we see it. We believe that Netanyahu is striving for new elections. Every effort will be made to prevent this.”
On the other hand, Lieberman cast the meeting in a different light: “What I’m missing is a clear, crisp message from every Kahol Lavan head that they accept the president’s outline.”
In short, Gantz seems no closer to forming a government–but if you follow Israeli politics, you know this could change overnight.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Palestinian Terror Missiles Strike Be’ersheva
Just when you thought there was a ceasefire . . .
It has been another sleepless night here in Ashdod with the roar of IAF planes overhead since about 2:30 am.
At 1:56 am, incoming missile warning sirens blared in Be’ersheva. Shortly thereafter, at least 3 missiles arrived; two of them were intercepted by the Iron Dome–the third exploded at the entrance to the city.
Four people were injured while trying to make it to their bomb shelters; an uncounted number were treated for trauma.
And just when the government and IDF have been perpetrating the absurd nonsense that Hamas terrorists are the “good guys” . . .
The IAF (the planes we heard all night) has apparently been hitting so-called “Hamas targets” in Gaza–which means sand dunes and empty buildings.
So if this is the work of Hamas, what made the terror group decide at this late date to fire at Be’ersheva? Perhaps an event which happened yesterday tells the tale.
Well-known senior Hamas spokesman Mahmoud al-Zahar decided yesterday to pay his respects at the mourning tent set up in Gaza for Islamic Jihad terrorist Baha Abu Alta.
However, when he got there, he was cursed by the family, and others shouted that he should be ashamed because Hamas did nothing in the mini-war.
If this wasn’t bad enough, other terrorists started firing weapons over his head, finally forcing him to leave.
Shortly thereafter came the new “news” from Hamas that one of their “military men” had actually been killed during the mini-war, and then last night Hamas missiles hit Be’ersheva.
