The Insane Photo of the Day
Why is this insane?
Because within days, terrorists in Gaza will be burning tires on the border and the acrid smoke from them will be causing widespread respiratory distress among southern Israelis–especially children and the elderly.
Why in the world is Israel facilitating tire burnings again?
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Along the Gaza Border:
*More and more explosive balloons were launched into southern Israel.
*A number of infiltration attempts were intercepted by IDF troops during the night.
*Hamas announced this morning that Iranian Ayatollah Khamenei and Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijani have been developing a plan to block the Trump Peace Plan. The plan apparently calls for Hamas to attack Israelis; Iran is calling on Hamas to undertake operations “whatever the price.”
In Judea and Samaria:
Yakir, Tekoa, Beit Horon, Ras Karkar, the Gush Etzion spring, Qalqilya, Talmon, the Janya Junction, the Ziff Junction, Kfar Etzion, Al-Fawar southwest of Hevron, and at numerous places on Road 465: these were places where Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis yesterday with “rocks” and Molotovs.
The above information was obtained by Israelis reporting to Rescue Without Borders, hakolhayehudi, and rotter.
Jerusalem:
Two stabbings have been thwarted on the Temple Mount.

Is Pollard finally coming to Israel? . . .
There are reports this morning from the Likud Party that the U.S. will finally allow 65-year-old Jonathan Pollard to come to Israel a month from now.
Lest we forget, Jonathan Pollard has had these restrictions on him since he was released from prison after 30 years on November 20, 2015:
*Pollard can only be outside of his apartment between 7 am and 7 pm and even then is unable to enter “exclusion zones” within New York City; he is unable to go anywhere else.
*Pollard must wear an electronic ankle bracelet to monitor his whereabouts at all times.
*Pollard cannot talk to the press without prior approval.
It is long past time for Pollard to come to Israel.

The Trump Peace Plan: Two Steps Forward, A Giant Step Backward
To begin with, your humble servant suggests that you read the Trump Peace Plan yourself. Please click here.
Two steps forward, one backward.
Just when many of us were waxing metaphoric about the Trump Peace Plan signing off on sovereignty/annexation in the Jordan Valley, Judea and Samaria, and perhaps elsewhere, came U.S. Ambassador Friedman this morning proclaiming that nothing could be further from the truth.
In the first place, Friedman specifically said that sovereignty is not the same as annexation. In his words: “The word annexation is just the wrong word. I’ve never used that word. It is not the the word that would apply to this. It’s the application of Israeli law.”
In the second place, Friedman said that the Trump Administration does not support a unilateral declaration of Israeli sovereignty over anything. In fact, Friedman said that before any sovereignty can be declared, a joint U.S.-Israeli committee must be established to consider every aspect of each decision. According to Friedman: “We will look at the Israeli proposal and examine it and make sure it is in line with our plan. We will set up the committee as soon as possible and work on it immediately and try to end quickly but I do not know how long it will take.”
In support of Friedman’s statement, Jason Greenblatt said this today: “On the Israeli side, the election issue has to go through, but until then there will be no progress on the plan. We will have to wait and see.”
In sum, it would seem that sovereignty is on hold. And annexation is not even on the horizon.
Your humble servant hopes that this reading of Greenblatt and Friedman’s statement is not correct, but if it is, it is extremely disappointing.
In my opinion, this is a giant step backward.
